Yup. But he has a taste of the #1 now...for athletes who live on ego, this could be a real sticking point.

We keep hearing how happy the forwards are under MSL...what about goal/defense?

I think Allen is well-known for his "team first" attitude, and I doubt he truly considers himself as a legit #1. besides he shared the load rather evenly with Montembeault last year, it isn't like he was getting a huge majority of starts.

I expect the plan to be an even split between Monty and Allen, obviously subject to performance and injuries.

I think both goalies would be fine with being 1A and 1B, they make a decent goaltending duo for now if they both remain healthy all year long.

I can see them trying to limit Allen to 30-35 games, simply because he seems to get injured if he plays more often. I would not be surprised to see Monty get 50 games.

especially if he continues to build on what he did at the worlds... I hope for him he does, as I do like his attitude and how he strives to become a better goalie.

Always liked Montembault. He improved significantly last season. I'd extend him for 3-4 years now as I'm convinced the price will be higher next season.

this could definitely be true, and there aren't many upcoming goalies for the habs on the horizon, as Primeau is still a question mark and Allen isn't getting any younger.

unless Hughes pulls a rabbit out of his ass and acquires Hellebuyck or something lol

yeah, I get what you're saying lol.

I don't see this happening though, and if it actually did I'm confident that Hughes wouldn't be offering Hellebuyck a 10.5M dollar contract for 10 years...

yeah, I think we all agree that considering the cap, Price was paid a bit too much...

but seriously though Brière will probably have to lower his demands if he really wants to trade Hart, everyone knows he has the potential of being a great goalie, and he's been playing on a poopty flyers team, but the numbers simply aren't there.

at 30 years old it would be logical for him to want to be traded to a contender, yeah.

there's been talk about Brière potentially trying to get an idea of how interested teams are on the market.

he looks like satan to me.

he should get a satan paintjob on his mask so that when he takes it off he still looks like satan.
