Come for the hockey talk stay for the transphobic comments i guess - Punch70
No one said anything remotely trans-phobic.
Listen, guy. You are simple. It’s not your fault. But this isn’t the place for virtue signaling. Some people know more than you, have met different people and understand the discourse.
You want to play tag. This isn’t a game. Maybe if we didn’t filet the tip of a man’s penis the second he is born, we wouldn’t have so many body image issues?
Do you enjoy looking down at your scarred penis or is it really so hard to teach people to wash their genitals?
Let me repeat that: as soon as a male is born in America, his penis is filleted and scarred, and he loses between 30-70% of his sensitivity. And we are told it’s normal.
And wonder why so many want it fully filleted and tucked up inside a hole that’s ripped open and stuffed with skin grafts from your thighs after being told by an entire generation of men who didn’t go to war, that we aren’t man enough. Even though we went to war.
So yeah do you really want to have this conversation? |

New prediction. Rumor is that the Sabres love Etienne Morin. I have him rated 40th and we pick 39th BUT KA is likely to trade up to make sure they get him tomorrow.
I love (too much( the Sabres and the Bills. I'm starting to believe that the Sabres win a cup before the Bills win a SB. Thouhts? - turbo044
Probably get him at 45 |

“Zach Benson got more U18 points in the WHL than:
— Matthew Savoie
— Dylan Cozens
— Brayden Point
— Evander Kane
— Brayden Schenn
— Sam Reinhart
— Jordan Eberle
— Mathew Barzal
— Conor Geekie
— Peyton Krebs
In the last 5 years, only Connor Bedard has more U18 points than Benson.”
I still can’t believe we got him at 13.
The people that hate this pick will be first in line to switch your Eichel templates to Bensons.
Jeff Skinner’s eventual replacement on line 1 for 10% of the cost.

"Benson's the best non-McDavid playmaker I've ever tracked. Second all-time in expected primary assists per 60 (5v5 only, 3000-plus players), which basically measures passes for scoring chances." -Mitchell Brown on twitter. |

If he had succeeded and traded his second round picks for another first you would have complained that now he has nothing to use for a D. |

McCarthy, Strbak and Gibson should be top D targets at 39. I wouldn't mind two of them; I also wouldn't mind one of them and a goalie.
Curious as to whom KA was targeting as a tradeup into the latter part of Rd 1?
whomever challenged me when I said it's the NHL and no trades happen at the draft - 0 trades happened tonight |

Idiotic statement - he traded up for Peterka (how did that work out) and the Risto, Eichel and Reinhart trades have been goldmines:
Risto, Reinhart and Mbumhole for:
Kulich, Levi, Tuch, Ostlund, Krebs, Greenway, #39 tomorrow
Your move..... |

I believe in Ostlund more long term then I do either of Rosen or Savoie. - kingcong39
Not arguing but why do you think that? Can you give a little detail on what makes him better than each of these other prospects please. I know little about him but what I have seen so far is ok but nothing that says the Sabres should go out of their way to keep Ostlund around. Not saying I am right. Just asking your opinion.

Buffalo Sabres: Zach Benson, LW, Winnipeg (WHL)
Grade: A+
Zach Benson is a top-10 talent in this draft class, and fell simply because of his lack of size (5-10, 170 lbs). The Sabres take advantage and snag him at No. 13. Benson is a winger that carries a high hockey IQ and is a threat both to shoot and pass with efficiency. He's overflowing in skill and has a ton of upside. He fits exactly into the mold of smaller, skilled forwards that Buffalo has recently taken in drafts.
B/R Rank: 5
Analysis:
The Buffalo Sabres drafted Winnipeg Ice forward Matthew Savoie at ninth overall in 2022 after he slipped down the board despite elite numbers. Lightning has struck twice. Benson needs to mature physically, but he comfortably projects as a top-six NHL winger. And that might be a conservative guess. He's incredible value for the Sabres at 13th overall.
Pick Grade: A+
USA Today
A real steal in the draft here from Buffalo. Zach Benson is a small forward, but boy can he score goals. What Benson lacks for in puck strength and size, he more than makes up for it with his sensational hockey skill and offensive firepower.

@TSNBobMcKenzie
Not to oversimplify it, because so much more goes into drafting decisions than just one thing, but if a prospect went higher or lower than expected tonight or didn’t get taken at all in the first round, size may well have been a contributing factor.
Some bigger guys went a little higher than maybe expected; some smaller guys went a little lower.
Lots of talented prospects still available to start the second round tomorrow morning.
Twenty-eight of
@TSNHockey
Top 32 prospects were taken tonight.
Those ranked in the Top 32 who weren’t selected:
27. Andrew Cristall
29. Ethan Gauthier
30. Gavin Brindley
32. Riley Heidt
The four first-rounders tonight who were ranked outside of TSN’s Top 32:
34. Charlie Stramel
36. Tanner Molendyk
37. David Edstrom
53. Easton Cowan
