Corey Perry? Really?
C'mon, take the challenge. Ralph is shown the door and you're now the GM. You earlier made the statement that the last three years have been failures (I think you're the only sword swallower that goes that far). Lets hear how the troll does at the job. - Slump Buster
Dont stoke the fire. It seems like washedup is trying the troll less from his last few post. Its a start.

Is it possible plans changed once they found out Quinn got hurt…again? They might have been ready to unload the farm for X but reassessed after a core player got hurt. - washedup20
Sure. You'd hope 6 months doesn't change their long term plans, but could see it changing what they do this summer.

I'm fairly confident in this group , especially at the draft.
Benefit of the doubt, looks very promising.
Just kicking around the idea.... mitts probably has some decent value, but our system could definitely be a big part of his success. - Boss34
Confident in management or the players? |

It’s not the 6 months, it’s the multiple injuries in the player. |

Both, of course.
Mostly management, feel like our proprect pool is rock solid.
Looks like they hit on hopefully a few of savoie, kulich, rosen, ostlund. |

10 high draft picks all competing for middle 6 jobs next summer. Something has to give. Adding 1 more to the top of list is a good reason to wait until next summer to decide on Mitts.
A deal this summer isn't crazy, but Quinn likely rules that out.

Not that I want to keep this going but I’m referring more to prospect pool and playing style. We took the best player available with our first pick. He checks the boxes of a more skilled ROR. Not complaining about that.
Many of our forwards play will little defensive intensity and no second effort if the puck is stripped. It can be taught, but it’s a culture shift IMO - lulags
Not to drag this back up, but for what it's worth, Benson is widely considered the best defensive forward in the top of this draft.
I think people see the height and assume he is Tyler Ennis. But he is the same height as Chris Drury, yet no one makes that comparison.
Remember this team drafted Quinn over the smaller, highly skilled centers Marco Rossi and Cole Perfetti. They drafted Cozens over Caufield. So basically we are talking about Rosen and the three firsts last year. I think that is less of a organizational choice and more of just taking the best players on the board.

Kinda makes you wonder about krebs and his long term future in buffalo.
Feels strong with our 4 centers
Tage
Cozens
Mitts
Krebs
You gotta fight your way to a spot
Just my opinion, but mitts feels vibey and
Vibey = getting paid long term. |

Thank god Quinn got injured he was blocking prospects like Okposo and Girgensons time to see what these guys are made of. |

Some people only count prospects as non-nhlers, so no prospects have nhl experience. But Kulich, Rosen, Ostlund, and Savoie are all listed in the top 100 prospects on basically every list I have seen.
If you count guys with less than a year or two experience in the league, then the pool includes Levi and Power and Quinn and Peterka and maybe even still Krebs. Pretty dope list.

Most guys seem to be excelling where they currently were playing.
Savoie was a terror in the playoffs (not amerks)
Kulich is super young a popped in 20
Rosen played well in the playoffs
Ostlund , I really cant speak for....
I know your down on rosen, but savoie and kulich look like sure fire prospects. |

He reminds me of Skinner, except a witch on the defensive side (whereas Skinner is decidedly not) - Slump Buster
This is wrong
Skinner is one of our better back-checkers and he is great along the walls. |

How many times in the last 12 years have the Sabres had a top 10 prospect group? At least once just from memory and many where the prospects were going to pay off.
It’s wild that a bald maintenance guy has you people convinced this is it, with the real and problematic voids in the roster. |

Just an opinion, but rousek although older maybe a bit higher.
Novikov maybe 5 or 6 spots too low.
Ka meet and greet , he raved about novikov being an nhler soon
