There are Teams out there with No Cap Space and teams that are gonna have to move a player or 2 to get Cap compliant. See if any might want to move a goalie if they have one.

When you factor in LTIR, how true is that?

You (again) speak as though it is a foregone conclusion.
- Slump Buster

Ok, what are the odds of success?

There are only a handful of goalies that have made the jump from college to the NHL. And if he falters, you have a 2nd year guy that’s been very up and down.

I may be coming off as a forgone conclusion but the odds are not in our favor…

I don’t think so. A first + for one year of contract term sounds about right to me.

The Islanders have just about a million in cap space with a few players to sign.

Who says they won't get another goalie? That's what I don't get.

I'd do it but Winnipeg says no. Nobody wants a traditional rebuild anymore. They will want players.

They have to be trading at least one goalie at this point, probably 2. One in a deal for a veteran and the other for whatever they can get.

Why are you looking to be entertained by trades? This feeds into the doom and gloom of the summer.

Also, I personally would hate having my team turn over every year.

- Slump Buster

Idk not really a hot take that the NHL off seasons rarely pan out like the rumor mill suggests.

I also wasn’t making a negative Sabres comment so you don’t have to White Knight

One of the best improvements Capfriendly has made is including LTIR candidates in their team cap detail.

Really cool.

Only person that said that is 89 from what I recollect. The rest are expressing understandable concern, Mr. Comment gatekeeper. Did it ever occur to you that maybe you’re the one that needs to relax?

I think when I started this rant, I said the off-season wasn’t over yet. Lol. There is time. But the market isn’t great. UFA is tapped. So the leaves a trade.

Hele for a year or for $9mill if you extend him?
Gibson if he waives, which he did not last year.

Who else is out there?

It isn't white Knighting, it is just being realistic. Nobody was looking to be entertained by today until it was televised. 95% of the players moved today were meh. Having more of them moved couldn't possibly make it more entertaining. I am glad that adams didn't do anything dumb.

Islanders have 22 of 23 roster spots with Wahlstrom left to sign and a bit over a million in cap space.

They'll figure it out.
