I think when I started this rant, I said the off-season wasn’t over yet. Lol. There is time. But the market isn’t great. UFA is tapped. So the leaves a trade.
Hele for a year or for $9mill if you extend him?
Gibson if he waives, which he did not last year.
Who else is out there? - Gr8daygo
Ah ,sorry, didn't back read. I bet Hele is a trade deadline target for someone. I would have liked anderson or korpisolo but not for what he got. There are other goalies around - it seems silly to say that there arent. |

They've got a million in cap space and only Wahlstrom to sign.

Nashville went out and got a lot of vets instead of resetting. No way Saros is available. |

Go back a page or 2. I listed the top 6 free agents available. It’s. Ummm. Not great….
The three trade targets we’ve heard something about in the last 6 month.
Hele
Gibson
Saros.
Hele will cost assets and $9 mill ish to extend.
Gibson would have to waive to come here and he said no last year.
Saros. I’d love, but some feel with the moves they made they are taking another swing….
Could be someone else, I’m not that entrenched… |

When you factor in LTIR, how true is that? - Lunaion
Are they allowed to use that before the season starts, and I could be wrong but don't that have to wait a certain amount of games before they can activate LTIR |

Theoretical question, and I am couching it by saying this is not my preferred path.
Would it be the end of the world if they brought back up and comrie? I think everyone's preference is a vet like MAF. If we fix the d and play less pond hockey, couldn't one of them work? And we wouldn't have to be married to them. Trades can still happen later on. |

It isn't white Knighting, it is just being realistic. Nobody was looking to be entertained by today until it was televised. 95% of the players moved today were meh. Having more of them moved couldn't possibly make it more entertaining. I am glad that adams didn't do anything dumb. - Slump Buster
You do realize that the reason sports exist in the manner in which they do is for entertainment right? |

If they go with 3 goalies for a full season I might vomit. |

Most people’s preference I think is a legitimate starter |

Well, yes - that's why they play the games. Also, wouldn't you hate if half your roster turned over every year? The NBA has become a bunch of mercenaries. By your logic, the NFL must be super boring. |

No to the games. There's off-season LTIR and in-season. Slightly different calculation on their impacts. You can manipulate it with waiver-exempt deals.
I don't think anyone needs to do much. Most of those moves were made already.

I think in that scenario, one of them has to be given a preference. |

That's probably part of it, but I think the other side of it is that we saw a ton of meh players move today. Teams lock up their better players. |

@drosennhl
Dollar figures down this year = good for cap strapped teams in what should be the last year of the flat cap.
Terms shorter this year = good for players who want to cash in when cap goes up starting next year.
Such an interesting year in NHL free agency. May not see it again. |
