Sign or trade for a goalie, just get it done!
Key is not holding on to Olofsson just because we can only get a 4th or similar in return. Otherwise, it’s another rebuild year.
Look at comparable returns for teams freeing up cap. I don’t think we can expect more than a 3rd for him - lulags
Adams could do some damage with future considerations… |

Those 4th line players are going to be utilized in the:
PK
Defensive zone face offs
Shutting down opponents top lines
Leadership on and off the ice
Those are all weaknesses on the team, Adams overpaid players who want to be in Buffalo, have letters on their jerseys, have no proven success in Buffalo.
There was opportunity to improve at those positions and save money on the cap (yes it matters). - washedup20
Someone gets it! I mean why would you want better Hockey players on your team than the plug you signed. It shouldn't matter what line he plays on, it should matter that he's better. |

I am really not to surprised about the Goalie situation, we have seen this show before. I hope Adams has something up his sleeve, but it wouldn't surprise me if this is what we roll into Camp with.

Day 2
Let's trade for a goalie and upgrade the middle 6. |

I do get it, would you have given or beaten the deal the sens gave Korpi? Probably not….
Lyon is as unproven as Comrie was and Reimer is meh….
Just hoping Adam’s has a plan. You’d think after a year plus, he’d have some sort of vision in net vs. college rookie, 2nd year pro and a swing for a double… maybe today is the good day… |

They are fourth line players. And he's making a whopping $675,000 less than those other two. Again, we're complaining about our fourth line. Ffs. - Powerslave
If your argument is that 4th line players have marginal value at best to the team, then this board must therefore never utter another word about the defensive excellence of their two 4th line players.
Your argument is accepted and passed. Done. |

To Brad,
Early in your spot as HB Blogger, you have set a cycle of 1 article every ~10 days.
It isn't good enough.
You missed the 2 most significant offseason events during the NHL offseason. Your 3 blogs to date consist of reminiscing of teams and players of bygone eras, that have virtually no linkage the recent happening for the team you cover.
In comparison, writers such as Pronman and Wheeler have articles posted the day the Draft ended, yet they cover 32 teams and gave content covering 100+ players selected ...again the same day.
Now, just 2 days later, they deliver content on multitudes of UFA signings.
Yet here we sit, falling off the main HB page anticipating some dumb post about a random draft of the Sabres 30 years ago. |

Are our lives really lessened cuz of blog infrequency. I’d say read the Buffalo News or certainly the Athletic for content

I would take it seriously, and I would take suggestions from people for blog topics.
I might be banned here and there but hey, a blog is a blog. |

This sets up perfectly for a goalie trade
Olofsson + joker + UPL for goalie
Gibson or hellybuck make sense with a trade of that size.
But I could also see that trade going for a goalie that is cheap cap hit wise.
3 to 4 range |

What teams are in position to lose their starter? Would anyone really give their starter job to UPL?
Do our 3 disposable pieces have that much value? |
