What teams are in position to lose their starter? Would anyone really give their starter job to UPL?

Do our 3 disposable pieces have that much value?

- Lunaion

Together they definitely have value.

We will see what happens.

Easy in theory, tough in practice.

Who can move their starting goalie, likes UPL, likes Joker, and likes (+can afford) VO?

Think VO is still here because his value is so low.

Imagine if we moved to other countries and refused to learn the language but became cab drivers and expected a tip for dropping you off in the middle of the road because you can’t communicate

Wouldn’t we get killed? Am I wrong?

That is why we shall see. I honestly don’t know

Saros and hart fit that bill

Something has to give: 9 NHL defensemen, 3 NHL goalies and 4 AHL goalies, and a partridge in a pear tree

Here's where I disagree on Saros.

They've got a very odd looking lineup. Very incomplete roster up front. VO definitely helps if he's shipped there as they're thin on the wing. Nashville's D looks fairly strong (Josi, McDonough, Barrie and Schenn) and they've got Saros.

Do they try and win by continuing to play a defensive style of game. If so, they're not trading Saros and relying on UPL.

let's make a few moves to improve the roster now instead of just adding bodies to the roster

literally grabbed 3 goalies yesterday and none of them are better than 6k or comrie

no need for 3 more scrubs

If your argument is that 4th line players have marginal value at best to the team, then this board must therefore never utter another word about the defensive excellence of their two 4th line players.
Your argument is accepted and passed. Done.

- IonSabres

Girgensons plays a very quiet defensive game.

Okposo plays a very good defensive game.

That feels good to say.

To be fair, I don't know why everyone lumps all of the signings yesterday into the same grouping. Some/most were going to Roch or ECHL. It isn't like Adams just got a bunch of bodies to fill out the roster like so many other middling teams did. We got a couple of guys on D that will help - everything else are just guys not meant to play on the roster.

This sets up perfectly for a goalie trade

Olofsson + joker + UPL for goalie

Gibson or hellybuck make sense with a trade of that size.

But I could also see that trade going for a goalie that is cheap cap hit wise.

3 to 4 range

- Sabretooth9

-Joker value 3rd rounder
-Olo value according to pegs'ville, 3rd rounder 1/2 retained
-upl value 2nd rounder

That's not gonna get helly. And hopefully not gibson.

Teams just dont take 3 pieces of garbage ☝️
For a top player like hully IMO

Correct - you’d have to add a to prospect (like Rosen) and/or the 2024 1st to move the needle. I’m not opposed to this but I’m not sure KA is interested. He may want more of a 1B to Levi’s 1A than to make Levi the 1B while Helleybuyck is the 1A for at least a year

Agreed, one of the former 1st rounders would need to be added.

Peg isnt taking our garbage for one of their best players over the past decade in helly.

Plus, levi is the starter.....

A goalie coming in directly from college isn’t going to be physically ready to play 55-60 NHL games. I don’t buy that at all.

Even if another goalie comes in a splits. That is fine too.

Okposo said same thing when he signed, they played together at SSM’s so that checks the vibes and he will be a mentor to Power - I don’t see any connection other than 1OA.

Hard to see any other value he brings but it’s good that they are trying to fill voids in the roster.

No idea how his play on the ice will be at this point but I love the idea of him mentoring 2 1OA dmen.

That would eliminate Hellebuyck then as he’s not coming for a year to split starts - he’s getting 55-60. Gibson, Hart, swayman (offer sheet) fit the bill for splitting starts with Levi

Rodriguez would have been a massive upgrade over Girgensons, Jost, Okposo.
I’m worried those three signings and Adams way over valuing Olofsson are going to handcuff him. If the roster is as it sits, we are not a playoff team. Too many in the East made significant moves.
He will probably add a value depth player and be done with it.
