A goalie coming in directly from college isn’t going to be physically ready to play 55-60 NHL games. I don’t buy that at all.
Even if another goalie comes in a splits. That is fine too. - Sabretooth9
Levi playing 55 is way more likely then Winnipeg taking joker, olofsson and upl for their franchise goalie.
That's a playstation trade.
Its Levi's job. He's a phenom, definitely the starter as we speak. |
|
|
|
That would eliminate Hellebuyck then as he’s not coming for a year to split starts - he’s getting 55-60. Gibson, Hart, swayman (offer sheet) fit the bill for splitting starts with Levi - turbo044
Goalies generally don’t start that many game in general anymore. Many nhl guys said hellybuck played too many and looked warn down playoffs wise.
How much will Swayman take / want?? |

I reason to split if we land Helly. UPL goes back to Rochester, Levi sees 20-25 games.
If our answer is keep goalies as is, we are in trouble. That’s way too much pressure for a fresh out of college goalie. |

100% disagree. He’s a rookie goalie just starting in the NHL. That would be a horrible idea.
You can’t just give him to the keys and run. Sorry this isn’t NHL 2023 on a video game game system |

Interesting - Buff36
I’m not sure Clifton can play the 25 minutes/games that Power does (along with Dahlin and Samuelson). He might have to share the 4th spot with Johnson, let Johnson sun in for him every few shifts. Something like this
120 total D minutes per game:
Dahlin, Sammy, power 25 each = 75
Clifton, Johnson 17 each = 34
#6d (bush, joker, stillman) = 11 minutes |

Rodriguez would have been a massive upgrade over Girgensons, Jost, Okposo.
I’m worried those three signings and Adams way over valuing Olofsson are going to handcuff him. If the roster is as it sits, we are not a playoff team. Too many in the East made significant moves.
He will probably add a value depth player and be done with it. - lulags
Sure, the entire lockerroom would fall head over heels in love with erod. They would admire him so much.....
The would just start calling him dad, and everyone would be fine with him as captain and alternate captain.
Erod would wear a 'C' on one shoulder and an 'A' on the other.

Too many need to stop thinking they can make a quality trade like it's the NHL version of getting cash for clunkers, especially when the clunkers have a combined NHL cap hit of north of $8M.
If you want a quality to top quality player, you're almost assuredly losing at least one asset that will hurt, if not two.
It's all about mitigating the hurt when making a trade like the one above, but there will be at least some degree of pain involved. |

Played 7 of 9 last season. How many college goalies do that?
Speaking of video games.

UPL, Joker, 2024 1st for Carter Hart
Flyers need a d-man, especially if Deangelo goes to the Canes still. |

Kinda crazy that someone would think the 3 worst expendable players on a non playoff team would be the same value as connor helly.
Cash for clunkers is a good comparison.
Imagine another team not offering more?

2.1m to 4.3m (rounding) is a 2nd rounder. So I’d offer him 4.29. Boston won’t want to pay 9.2m for two goalies. They do have $6m in cap space though (with 3 roster spots to fill) and I’m sure they’ll match. Who knows |

We’d have to add a too prospect like Rosen and maybe the 2024 1st (in the 20s). |

Levi wants the pressure too. Like Patrick Roy. I’m hoping they go with Levi and 6K. Maybe a William Jennings worthy tandem. Makes no sense to bring in Helly if you plan to keep Levi. They get Helly, they need to trade Levi. That’s how I see it. |

I’ve had this feeling that whatever deal Adams is involved in per Gerbe it’s either with Philly or Calgary.
Both teams are going to blow up a part of their roster soon |

3 to 4 years at roughly $4.5M per is the prediction for Swayman. |

UFAs are actually interested in Buffalo. Their own words now instead of reporters.

Erik Johnson called buddies on the Avs to get their opinion: "I called a lot of my old teammates and I was bouncing the teams off some of them. All of them really said Buffalo’s a team on the rise. That’s not a secret anymore. People know that the Sabres are coming."

Erik Johnson says he had 5 or 6 options in free agency and Buffalo was at the top of the list.
He says the Sabres remind him of Colorado when they were building. - TheSabresTaco
We have a very young D-core. Hopefully he can bring some leadership and mentoring. He still looked decent in CO, but I’d imagine he’s 15-18min per game at this point |

Above average goalie, term is one year but an RFA afterwords.
Could do a lot worse on a minimum two year term.
Could even flip him next offseason and recoup assets if another stop gap becomes available |
