Well, yes, every GM in the league yesterday tried to get multiple other players to come to their team and were not successful in getting all of them. I can't fathom what your point is. - Slump Buster
Yes not every other team in the league has an awful reputation and long playoff drought and made comments at a press conference today saying a 35 year old one foot out of the league D man agreeing to come here meant things were all good now |

It’s better to just say guys want to come here now.
Even though Adams admitted today that he tried convincing forwards to come here yesterday and struck out. - sbroads24
One more top 15 pick and then they'll really start trying even more |

He said he had 5-6 offers and chose Buffalo’s. We don’t know the other offers but he’s made a shltload in his career so I wouldn’t think the money was determinent #1 |

Wow. Just wow. Yes, that is exactly how it is, and what happened. KA said "we got Johnson to come here, mission accomplished".

Plenty of players look for a final big payday over the last years of their career. |

Nah, I'm really not.
It's been 12 years of nonsense and this was Adams' fourth draft. Trying doesn't it do it for me anymore. Do or do not, there is no try. |

Only in buffalo do we care so much about other people liking us, and then when they do, we have to have them like us in a very specific way. The guy is coming here and seems genuinely excited for the opportunity - I can't imagine that is anything other than a positive, even if it means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

do or do not... what? The offseason hasn't ended and the story isn't even started to be written. There is such fatalism around all of this.

Make winning a priority. Their stated priority is development. I have not heard anyone anyone in the organization talk about winning as a priority since Terry did it 12 years ago.
Most people outside of the sabresphere recognize how precarious and frankly ridiculous their goaltending situation is |

Sure, maybe? We all have our preferences as to what could/should have been done. But that doesn't mean it won't work out.

I watched most of the draft last week. When asked about the playoffs, not one gm said anything beyond "we're trying to get good players". Do you really need for them to say it for you? That's going to move the needle? If they don't say it out loud, it isn't happening?
You all talk as if the the build somehow stuck last year, or the year before. Nothing of the sort happened.

You continuously harp on us building a cup team rather than just a playoff team.
How on gods earth can you look at Clifton being the big D add and them riding UPL/Levi and with a straight face say they are on their way to accomplish that?
You can’t |

Came over on the 28th of February and was traded the 5th of March. |

Right but I dont think its fatalism to be disappointed by it or be concerned. Its a long drought and without a healthy dose of copium, its hard to get excited about two 3rd pair d-men.
That could change, and im sure if it did people would feel differently. This is also tough because the GM hasnt been in this position before so I can't say either way what he'll end up doing. |

I genuinely don’t understand the sentiment that rolling into the season with Levi and UPL as your top two is anywhere near a good idea. I doubt KA believes it either, frankly. “Precarious” is an understatement. I say this believing that both of them are eventually NHL caliber goalies to varying degrees. |

I think the Darcy analogy is very apt. Darcy very rarely lost a trade, but also made too few. He also tended to acquire low-cost assets and hope for the best. Sometimes it did (Briere) and sometimes it didn't (Raffi Torres) |

It’s a terrible idea and everyone knows it.
The only people defending that idea are people who have defended Adams every move for the last 3+ years |
