I guess so, people here are praising a bozo who couldn't even run a rink correctly yet trust him to run a hockey team. |

Trade 1: Sabres acquire Chris Tanev and a 2024 sixth-round pick from the Calgary Flames in exchange for 39th overall (PHI) in the 2023 NHL Draft, Noah Ostlund, and Victor Olofsson (50% retained)
Trade 2: Sabres acquire John Gibson (25% retained) and 59 overall (COL) in the 2023 NHL Draft in exchange for Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, Jacob Bryson, 45 overall (BUF), and a 2024 second-round pick.
The veteran goaltender has four years remaining with a $6.4 million cap hit. If they can get the Ducks to retain 25% of the contract ($1.6 million), a cap hit of $4.8 is more tolerable for the Sabres. They can then justify Devon Levi taking games from him over the next few years and it could be easier to move him down the road if necessary.
Pick #13: Buffalo Sabres – Oliver Moore
In this scenario, the Sabres would have their pick of a few players that make sense. Dmitri Simashev and Axel Sandin Pellikka would be reasonable picks at this spot for the blue line. Oliver Moore and Matthew Wood are the top two forwards remaining, in my opinion. I decided to go with Moore this time around.
He’s such an exciting player to add to the system and would replace the departure of Noah Ostlund in this offseason scenario.
Signing 1: Caleb Jones – one year, $2 million
First things first, this is off the assumption that the Chicago Blackhawks are not going to give Jones a qualifying offer. That would make him an unrestricted free agent.
I also have heard some talk that the Sabres may not be looking to add just one defenseman.

It won't be balls to the wall, anyone can see that. They won't spend to the cap, never any intentions of doing that. I\ve been saying for months now, a Dman, maybe a forward and from what i was told, Levi, UPL and Comrie. Adams pretty much has said the same thing the last 2 times he has done pressers. - SABRES 89

Love Tanev but at 33 with an expiring contract after next season, there’s no way his price is that high. |

He's the best Defensive Dman on the market, they don't have to move him especially if they move Hanifin. |

That's stupid, he would be a good partner for Power! There isn't to many young ones that fit the bill and are available. |

I’m all for acquiring and-man and trading whatever, you know this.
I don’t know if Tanev is it. He’s going to decline pretty steadily if I had to guess moving forward.
He’s a 1 year guy at most IMO.
You are going to be paying top dollar for past performance on a contract that won’t go well into the future. |

Sounds like the league is holding up that Flyers Carolina trade for DeAngelo. Something about the trade not being 12 months since the last one and the Salary Retention. |

The build for sustainable competition will take 5+ years...allowing a winning window from 2025-2028, then repeat the rebuild process - the losing is what is necessary to win, this is basic logic.

Ask your source. Adams wants a defensemen that fits the age group of the current players. So 25-27 ish with term. |
