all depends on if he starts to fall off over the next 3 season. If he is still getting you 30, then I have no problem signing him to a 3-5 year contract.
- hehateme

If he and his agent want a 6 or 7 year deal because it'll be the only time he can really cash in, with an elevated cap limit, are you going to be good with that?

The clock is already ticking loudly on Tuch's deal.

I was half way kidding with Myers... would I think on his own he moves the needle, NO, but bring in Gudas and Myers and only play Meyers 15 mins a night along with Gudas for physicality. Now I think we might have something.

sign Bertuzzi.

At what point, or is there one, where the players start to question managements ability to improve the team?
- washedup20

Myers just seems like a Adams move
One year
Pushes decision till next year
Adds 6 million to cap
But only have to pay 1 million
Cost is reasonable
Player probably wouldn't hate coming back here

√ IAM in no way saying do the deal

Sabres also have an additional 10 million dollars on the cap ceiling at that point. With an entirely locked in core and the ELCs of Savoie, Kulich, Ostlund, Rosen and whatever poopbrick we draft on Wednesday.

You don't think Meyers is an upgrade from what we currently have?

I certainly do

- hehateme

I haven't seen him play since 'nam and the only consistent I hear when his name is brought up every season is how bad he is.

I don't know how he is utilized in Vancouver but the idea is to make him top4 and partner with Power - that idea doesn't sit well with me.

I would like to see Powers partner have leadership/physical traits that he can teach while being the calming presence back there while Power grows into his own.

Those players are acquired via trade or over paying in free agency

IMO we need 2 more NHL caliber D-men. I know Meyers is not what he used to be but I think he can be useful on this team if used right.

But yes I would take Gudas for sure.

I'd be good with a Bryson/Myers 11/13 swap as long as they then got a real #4 as well.

Power played over 20 mins a night at 5-on-5. No way do I want Myers out there with him for all that time

How about we just forget about Tyler Myers because he sucks! If we are bringing in a 33yr old might as well go get Tanev. Atleast he would help.

OK, I would be good with that then. that would give us a better chance at drafting DAVID REINBACHER .

Still a hard no from me. It would have to be 11 and a2 round pick and Tyler Myers for 13 and I still probably don’t do that.

Myers as the big acquisition would be like asking for a ps5 for Christmas and getting a Sega game gear instead

Serious question, and for the record, I really don't want Myers Back unless we are talking last resort shat.....

what is the down side of getting rid of Bryson and pick 13, for Myers and pick 11? Myers has one year left and IDC how bad his numbers are he has the potentials to be light-years better then Bryson will ever be. Even at 33

Also we can use 11 to potentially get that top 4 RHD we need so badly.

If as was stated earlier, Myers is due a $5m bonus in the next5 days, there's your answer. Pegula is NEVER paying $5m for Myers. Getting rid of Bryson = fine, moving up from 11 to 13 prob doesn't move the needle much

moving from 13 to 11 prob increases your chance of drafting DAVID REINBACHER a lot. just sayin

This is where I think they missed an opportunity last year. Last year (for me) was a growth year. We needed a D early in the season when the injuries hit. It would have been a perfect time to try a one-year reclamation project. I would be interested to see how Myers or OEL would fit in to our system, but I can't take a chance of hurting our playoff chances.

You talk yourself in circles, last year they needed a dman due to injuries and you would be ok with acquiring one because development?

This offseason....with the exact same players as last season...adding a vet depth dman hurts the playoffs chances?

Is there a brain up in that dome of yours?

If Myers is headed this way I will vomit. I watch too many Canucks games and he is a shell of his former self. Listen to Canucks talk radio or read the local columnists to get a sense of what the locals think of Myers. They desperately want to move on from him.

If we're even considering taking on Myers, it's only if they give us 11 straight up. End of story. No more Myers nonsense please. (Not directed at your Turbo044).

So you're saying the Sabres should acquire him and add him to the Okposo leadership.

I've said all along that my main beef with Adams last year is that he didn't bring in another D when we were decimated by injuries. And no, this isn't the exact same team as last year. Sure, the names are mostly the same but they are all a year better because we let them play (and no, I don't want to litigate that again). We also found out - through letting them play - that guys like Bryson weren't good enough. This year will be more growth. That's why this whole "running back the roster" complaint is so tired.

I don't think anyone is advocating for him unless they blew us away with an offer. It's probably a non-starter because of his salary anyway.
