sadly I agree. We certainly can afford to part with a few prospects to get what we need. - hehateme

ROR trade on this date. TMGM had that big win and then went out and gave up a first for Lehner....

You don't think the original ROR trade was a good one? We gave up a lot of crap for a future Conn Smythe winner. TMGM messed up a lot of other trades, but he got that one right.

No I didn't like the trade, we weren't ready and that so called trash, some have had decent careers |

I never gave GMTM crap for any of the trades, I would rather a GM that tries then Darcy... And GMKA is Turing into Darcy

Darcy made excellent trades. The problem is that - when we were challenging for the cup - he didn't get the extra assets to get us over the hump. Completely different situation than KA.

Only one really would be JT Compher and without trading for ROR we don't have Tage. it was a good trade.

I will be very upset if Ottawa gets Tom Wilson.
He’d be a great fit in Buffalo. - ImThatGuy
I am guessing that the point of the post is that he is a one-trick pony. Good at the truculence, not so much the other stuff. Better to get Gudas if that really floats your boat.

If he was told to hit the gas, I completely get why he made the trades that he did. He should have added another D or two, but that roster should have easily been good enough to make the playoffs. Lehner being on the sauce and then hurt probably hurt us the most.

Darcy made TWO excellent trades the rest were incidental trades nothing to move the needle,

Armia was a solid bottom 6, Zadarov is a decent bottom pair guy. And yes thank god it got us Tage. Or maybe if TM would have drafted better and not made some stupid trades we aren't talking 13yrs. |

Here is my issue with charts like that. at some point the data becomes unreliable IE PFF grading Aaron Rodgers with a negative grade after throwing five touchdowns because they were “easy completions”
This graph accounts for teammates and coaching. How TF do you calculate for coaching?
I think sometimes we try to hard to create data sets that can create bad good data if that makes sense. |

Guy traded all his young D, and that roster was top heavy cause he traded away everything that should have filled out your bottom 6 |

Well, sure, that's the point. He generally broke even or came out ahead on the incidental trades. One of his faults is that he wouldn't make a trade unless he thought he wont it.
I think the best example of him being conservative was the Biron trade. He had just made a great trade to bring in Zubrus at the deadline. He then trades Biron for.... a first. Why wouldn't he get something for the now?

All true. The Hudson Fasching trade is particularly ugly.

Cody Hodgson has to be up there.
Good reminder that all prospects don't continue to improve each year and long term deals on young players are risky. - Lunaion
Except he scored 20 goals and led the team in points that one year and he had back issues much like Nathan Horton. |
