Darcy made excellent trades. The problem is that - when we were challenging for the cup - he didn't get the extra assets to get us over the hump. Completely different situation than KA.

Well, sure, that's the point. He generally broke even or came out ahead on the incidental trades. One of his faults is that he wouldn't make a trade unless he thought he wont it.

I think the best example of him being conservative was the Biron trade. He had just made a great trade to bring in Zubrus at the deadline. He then trades Biron for.... a first. Why wouldn't he get something for the now?

Zubrus was an absolutely beast in the Rangers series. Did he get hurt after that? I don't remember.

I must have missed it - I thought GMs were graded on winning championships and not simply making lots of trades? There are a lot of different ways to get there. By your logic, the TMGMs and Peter Chiarelli's of the world are superstar GMs.

That was such a bizarre day. When that rumored trade apparently fell through, they panicked and traded Filip Forsberg to Nashville for a bag of pucks.

You also forget that he was the GM that built the roster that had us on the precipice of winning the cup. He made trades to get us there. Hell, the Zubrus trade was a good one at the deadline. He should have turned Biron into another piece rather than a first round draft pick.

I never gave GMTM crap for any of the trades, I would rather a GM that tries then Darcy... And GMKA is Turing into Darcy
