I thought there was a crazy trade for Filip Forsberg the Sabres didn’t pull the trigger on right before he got traded for Martin Erat - Hatboro_Swords
I think that was the Caps fallback / panic move after the alleged trade with us fell through. If my memory serves me, the Caps PR team had put out an alert to the media that a giant trade was about to go through at the deadline.

A bit late to the party here but I can't understand signing both okposo and girgensons before free agency even starts. It's disappointing when it appears adams isn't even looking to upgrade the offense. Despite 1 year deals and the offense being a low concern level, that is two roster spots that are effectively gone for replacement level players.
Im not sold on Krebs and if Greenway is a bust here this looks even worse. Teams in cap trouble needing to dump players and we should have been looking to upgrade the bottom 6, or perhaps a top 6 winger for cozens. Its time for this team to make moves that push people down the depth chart.
Adams 100% must make an impact on the defense. Get someone in here that moves people down the depth chart.
Goaltending wasn't addressed properly last year and it cost us a playoff spot. Waiting on levi failed in the short term and expecting him to save us is still not the answer IMO. Adams should have attempted to find a bandaid last year and absolutely must get a competent NHL goalie capable of playing 40 games this offseason.
There is plenty of time, I havent been this excited for an offseason maybe ever but my concern is clear and valid. Expectations are real and deserved. Adams shouldn't get a pass for missing the playoffs with the 3rd highest scoring team in the league.
He shouldn't get a pass for handcuffing himself with two 4th line forwards before the party even started |

Quentin Musty had one of the best offensive seasons I've ever tracked. Only 8 draft-eligibles since 2017 generated scoring chances at a higher rate, only 30 set up more chances. Excels at gaining the middle. Defence improved dramatically during the season. Got it all.

Why do you think he's being rated so low?

If Sabres trade for Helly then they must be trading Levi. It makes no sense to have both. - Hatboro_Swords
No way they’re trading for Hellebuyk. Sign a korpisalo type as a UFA, trade UPL for a 3rd and see if Comrie passes through waivers on his way to Rochester. Levi is the future |

OP got robbed - Chris16
Beniers had a really good year and OP’s contributions went under the radar. Question: if you could choose Beniers or OP, who would you choose? Nothing against Beniers but the answer is an easy OP. |

Levi and 6K is perfect tandem. No reason to waste money there. Crystal clear. |

****Disclaimer***** this is not an Adams dig, please don’t get offended ******
I repeat, not an Adams dig
It’s amazing that in the past 5 years this is who’s left the Sabres
Two cup winning #1 centers, Vezina goalie, 70-80 point two way winger, and a 70 point defensemen |

I'd say Power, but if you need a 1C, you probably go Beniers.

Oliver Moore had the top tracking results on the NTDP this year.
All of the entries, exits, retrievals, defensive stops, and created so much space for his teammates. And he set up tons of chances. Get the scoring chances/xG aligned with the shots, and he'll be golden.

Kane might be a piece of poop, but he's a legit 1LW, too. He just can't stay healthy, even with the freak accident last year |

The timing of Tage's breakout is wild in many ways, including the impact on the Power pick.
At the time, the Sabres had did not know if they had a 1st line Center. |

Saved the day really. They may have drafted 14 C's, but no one is looking like a good #1.

There never should have been.
NHL awards are stupid. It’s all about point totals. That’s it.
See NHLs “best” d-man per the award.
Power will be the most impactful player from that draft. He will never have the most points.

I was team Beniers at the time, for that reason. I remember what it was like without a 1C.
