Adams should be all over that - Sabretooth9
Guy has one of the worst penalty differentials ive ever seen. Probably not what a team with the worst penalty kill ever needs.
He's also not all that good but thats beside the point. |

On the surface it seems like an over pay.
Here are the 31st picks from 2016-2020 though
Egor Korshkov
Kilim Kostin
Alexander Alexeyev
Ryan Johnson
Ozzy Weisblatt
Whoooo???? - sbroads24
I completely get that. If I am Montreal I am moving heaven and earth to try to get top-of-the-line players. That's what they are sorely missing.

Ive scrolled over every boss post for quite some time so that cuts out a bunch of them. You probably should too. Makes back reading go a lot quicker, easier and you also won't get caught up in the constant fall flat on your face trolling as an added benefit. - TheHank

Habs just missing a top line , that's all?
Should be easy to find a #1 line 😀 |

Borgen seems like a decent target, is he really the #4 everyone wants?
Seems like a bottom pair slotted guy IMO
I keep hearing matt dumba, like it or not.
Sabres also kicking tires on pk88 for whatever reason. Probably ticket sales.... |

talking hockey with boss, the wheelchair guy and slump (fitz-lite) is near impossible. They are entrenched in dumb ideas and enjoy being fed mediocrity - they come on here and brag like the Sabres have done anything successful during the Pegula era. - washedup20
What makes you think you're entitled to anything more than mediocrity? You keep ridiculing other posts or posters for having a modicum of hope regarding this team.
The truth is that being a curmudgeon makes it easier for you to say "I told you so" but still reap the rewards if things really do pan out for this team. It's a cowardly position, lucky for you it's just sports and doesn't actually franking matter. |

Man, I'd love to be a fly on the wall there. Adams could go in 30 different directions, some of which he probably isn't even aware of yet because how fast things are moving.

Good post, washedup is a big child that likes to cry and complain.
Also likes 5 or more double jack and cokes at a time.
Seems like a well rounded guy.

The belief is that Caroline has a number for each player that they won't go above based on their value. I think that is the issue with Pesce - they have the space but choose not to go above their number on any one guy. I didn't read about them nickel and diming Staal. He got way too much as it was.
So imagine that: a good team manages their cap in a responsible way. - Slump Buster
Carolina going to keep that same approach with Aho?
Doubt it. |

Let's be 100% realistic.
A #4 defenseman is all we're looking at.
Maybe a goalie.
I was told that management agreed to play levi as the starter between 50-55 games next season.
The phenom is going to be our starter |

(shrug) we don't know what their number is for him. That said, I don't think that they could afford to lose him. As Tyson said, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.

Don't know, but talking with fans he should have played more, was pretty good and looked ready for more. Guy had like a 68% Dzone start rate |

Oh, sure, I don't expect huge moves. It just has to be tempting. As noted earlier, Mitts' stock must be through the roof right now given some of these trade returns. Could he be used to move up?
I have no problem with Levi getting that number of games. If he was good enough to start while the playoffs were on the line last year, he is certainly good enough to start 55 games next year. He has never been sheltered anywhere - why start now?

Because rookie goalies with no AHL experience and who have never played more than 40 games in an entire season don’t jump to 50+ their first year in the pros?

Betting next years success on at least one youngster. Possibly 2 with upl is very risky, agreed.
They love the kid, sounds like they had a tough time convincing levi to come here, without some promises. |

So what part of it was unrealistic? The kid walked out of school and was facing top NHL teams. 50 - 55 games is twice a week. Also, unless something dramatic happens, he is going to be our best option in net. How could you not play him that much?

Working smarter provides more options and improves chances of success, none of which has been implemented into the Sabres since Pegula arrived. The Sabres were entertaining prior to his ownership and the fans deserves better. Going on year 13 and development is still the brand getting sold and I have every right to call it out for the stupidity that it is.
The truth is, a competent person can see how poorly run the organization was and still is, no need for I told you so because it's happened and will continue.
Sports were deemed essential during covid...sounds important, try again.

3 goals in 82 games last year and 5 career nhl goals for borgen.
Wonder if donnie would use him exclusively on pk and defensive situations like you suggested.
I just dont see borgen as the " #4" we've been looking for IMO |

All of it is unrealistic
This has been a debate on Twitter
The only pure rookie goalie with no AHL or overseas pro experience to jump into the NHL and play 50+ games was Steve Mason 15 years ago.
There’s just no way that was a promise |
