I still say what Power did as a rookie defensemen was far more impressive than what Berniers did

2 really good choices
Simashev or Willander would be my preferences

- Buff36

Added Pellikka. Just getting the feeling a top 10 F drops to them and they can't pass it up. Maybe even Benson.

If it goes as projected, I'd like Simashev as well. Wouldn't be shocked if he's gone.

The devils scored 5 less goals than the sabres last year. Also young and on the rise

Still added two top 6 forwards in the last 4 months.

Why are we not trying to get better?

- ieetbred

We are trying. But trying and actually doing are different so Adyms is struggling

Baker called ASP Makar lite on the Sabres show yesterday. Believes he has big time talent.

Also loves both Simashev and Moore, as well as Musty, but at a later pick.

Yeah I agree someone will drop. Think the Sabres could have some opportunities

He had some games where he looked like best player or two on the ice. And he had some games where he looked like a rookie. First 10 games were brutal.

I think he was the right pick and gonna be a stud. I thought it could of went either way in my eyes. Both positions hard to play as rookies

I take power 1, 10 out of 10 times

Imagine it was an interesting board between the scouts and analytics.

Have seen a few projections with an early run on D.

Weird how much it changed from the beginning of the year. Was only a couple D even rated in the top 15

I’m a fan of Baker’s work but you start to lose a lot of credibility when you compare players to legitimately the best d-man in hockey.

Simashev is the only d-man I can get excited about at 13.

Benson/Moore if they fall are the homerun.

Danielson gives me Lundell vibes, a player who I think has more offensive upside than given credit for but has prototypical size and play that you can count on him being a middle 6 stalwart regardless.

I can get behind Barlow, Musty, Wood, Honzek

Sure, but there is nothing wrong with making comparables, especially if it is around the player in his draft year.

I’m all for comparables, but ASP would be the runaway #1 overall pick if Makar was a legitimate comparable.

He could literally be Makar and most teams would probably take Bedard over him still.

I hate lazy comparisons too but at least he did say lite
