I have been a little AWOL the last couple of months, life got in the way, kids medical issues, family stuff, etc. But I am back.

I made the biggest mistake this morning and that was doing some back reading. I should know better. That is on me.

But since the draft is tonight and I am finally able to breathe, can we please cut the crap? The personal attacks, the politics, the unoriginal blatant trolling, it's all BS. There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with someone, what happened to being able to have a conversation without it turning into a full blown out attack? It's not even original anymore.

We are all adults (at least age wise) this isn't a "can we all just get along" plea, it is a final warning. Stop the political posts, stop the personal attacks. There will be no warnings anymore, just stop. This page is one of, if not the most active page on this site. That is a good thing, it means we care about this team. We all want the same thing, to celebrate a Championship, it is okay to disagree how we get there. Just stop the name calling, and the personal attacks. It is not that hard to do. As mentioned, the flag function doesn't work anymore. I will be doing my best to monitor, but it shouldn't be needed. Let's grow up please.

What did he do the offseason before that? Sign Dougie Hamilton, the best UFA D man. What did Adams do? Sign Eric Comrie, the 85th best goalie this past season.

While you may end up being right, it's fair to reserve judgment until after this offseason.

Adams definitely screwed up last year. His team was way better than he thought it would be and he was still in "let the kids learn" mode when an extra D and a halfway decent goalie probably means a competitive playoff showing. Basically his team progressed faster than expected.

Now he is sitting on a 'should be a' playoff team that coul dbe a cup contender with 2-3 nice moves. If he is inactive this year, that will be telling. But he has done a good job drafting and developing, did okay in the Reinhart and Eichel trades, and hit a home run with the coach. So, in my opinion he has done enough to earn an open mind for this offseason.

The majority of the roster is locked in with players that are probably in our future and still improving. Sure, we could also add another 5-6 D and maybe that guy would be an upgrade. Why is it a failure if - in addition to the moves that the insiders keep telling us is coming - isn't that enough? Sure, you could go out and swap Bertuzzi for Mitts. Is that necessarily an upgrade? Are all of these complaints really centered around us *potentially* not getting a 5-6 D and a 3rd line winger?

They're doing well now. Monitoring my little one with the specialist but she seems all systems go now which is good.

My oldest, well explaining to a 9 year old why one of her friends passed away from cancer was never a conversation I practiced for. But health wise she is doing very well. Her hockey team is playing in a tournament up in Buffalo in November, can't wait to see these Florida parents freeze!

I don't want to see them move up, I want them to move out if anything. But IF they are moving up it is going to divide the fan base even more. Especially if they trade up for the Russian who we won't see until 2026 if at all.

I could see that, especially since he didn't cost much. If the reports are true, he strongly prefers players that are in a certain age. I get it, hopefully there are exceptions.

But the bigger point is trying to understand the female dogging. Regardless of how we got here (trades or draft), this is a pretty damn good roster as it is even today before the expected moves.

Why managements plan is to go into next year with, hope things improve vs actually making the necessary moves to improve.

Softness in the roster is due to Adams acting soft as GM. All these fluff pressers and saying things are hard, so much time invested and he hasn't even made the playoffs.

That is interesting because some of the female dogging is about us not having guys that have won a cup on the roster because they get magic pixie dust that falls out of the cup when you host it. By that logic, is Adams above reproach because he won a cup?
