That's the thing - I thought he was just (insert word that would get me banned). It took me this long to realize that it was schtick. I guess that also makes me a tool, which sucks.

I was talking about Carlsson. I have no idea who Gerbe was talking about but I wanted to move up to # 3 and take Leo...no interest in the Russian at all right now. I guess I missed the change in player discussion. - hammatoe

The memorandum that respects KHL contracts is currently suspended. Hard to say how it would play out.

ordinarily id say just buy off the the KHL team that owns his rights, but thats tricky because he's playing for CSKA. |

I'm pretty sure everything costs the same in that system so shouldn't be too expensive...

Kev tipped his hand on "tough decisions", but acquiring a 1st, unless it is being used to parlay for a player, is not the direction this team should be going. |

Guys,
I have been a little AWOL the last couple of months, life got in the way, kids medical issues, family stuff, etc. But I am back.
I made the biggest mistake this morning and that was doing some back reading. I should know better. That is on me.
But since the draft is tonight and I am finally able to breathe, can we please cut the crap? The personal attacks, the politics, the unoriginal blatant trolling, it's all BS. There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with someone, what happened to being able to have a conversation without it turning into a full blown out attack? It's not even original anymore.
We are all adults (at least age wise) this isn't a "can we all just get along" plea, it is a final warning. Stop the political posts, stop the personal attacks. There will be no warnings anymore, just stop. This page is one of, if not the most active page on this site. That is a good thing, it means we care about this team. We all want the same thing, to celebrate a Championship, it is okay to disagree how we get there. Just stop the name calling, and the personal attacks. It is not that hard to do. As mentioned, the flag function doesn't work anymore. I will be doing my best to monitor, but it shouldn't be needed. Let's grow up please.
Lastly, you can have Gerbe (twice) - Stripes77

Hearing Semyon Varlamov is leaning towards signing an extension with the #Isles. Sounds like it could be a two-year deal if/when it gets done. Also, Josh Bailey remains out there in the trade market as NYI try to free up his $5M cap hit. |

It's all messy right now. Would be fun if it's a real conversation later tonight.

you're asking for the best player in the KHL either next or in 2 years.

Yeah would be. This is also a convo the league should be involved in though. your product is way better with him there in his early 20s. |

I don't see why the two are mutually exclusive. We could move up to get the ruskie and still have an embarrassing amount of assets elsewhere. - Slump Buster
What does it cost to get up to say 4 or 5 to get that Russian. We don't have a embarrassment of riches at Defense, we do at Forward. So we are going to trade up to add to a position we are already very strong at that could have a chance at affecting what I do at a weak spot. Oh and that added strong point won't be helping for years. To me you don't make that move unless you are pretty sure you are gonna be able strengthen that weak spot. |

Or to free up cap space to get another player. They shouldn't have to do it, but maybe - given the stupid prices people were paying yesterday - they have an offer for a guy like Mitts that they couldn't turn down.

The canucks wound up paying todays equivalent of like 550k to get Bure out of his contract.
A different KHL team might have taken an offer like that. |

13, Mitts, Rosen, something else to move to 5 or 6? You would still have enough assets to do anything else that we wanted to.

Just based on the trajectory of most GMs, theres like a 98% chance Adams wont be the GM the year Michkov is projected to come over.
So unless he's there at 13 or they get a really friendly deal to move up that doesnt involve roster players, I wouldnt expect him to do that. |
