Again, you try to have it both ways. Repeat after me: Adams wasn't trying to "build out the roster" the last 2 seasons. They had to find out what their assets were. That endeavor has been a huge success in the way the assets turned out. Had he not done that, we would have gotten rid of the Mitts for nothing because they weren't patient enough. Now its time to finish up the roster.
This is why I asked you and the other sword swallowers about the holes on this roster: 4D and goalie. That's it. Everyone is shot in the rear with what the Devil's did with Hamilton and Meieir - they made those moves because they had giant holes on 1D and wing. We don't have those holes. In the coming years we will have pure competition to see if the kids are better than the young core. - Slump Buster
And they are the same holes that have not been filled since he got here. Until he does there still holes. |

Absolutely right. I am guessing that they thought that Joker was 4D. He isn't terrible in that slot, but a real contender doesn't have him at 4D. We got into trouble when we had multiple injuries on D, not because our healthy 6 had a huge hole in it.

We got in trouble because are D pipeline is horrible and he didn't do anything to change it. |

Didnt do anything ?
The pipeline you speak of has been dramatically improved. From what it was.
Having Jacob Bryson as your 6-7 and not acquiring anyone till the deadline(not draft) is what killed the D group once injuries struck. |

Not necessarily. Sure, our D prospects are a ways off (if ever). But how many teams are going to survive multiple injuries on D like we had? We had 3 or 4 guys from Roch playing. There was nothing necessarily wrong with our D later in the year, especially after Stillman came in. The talk of 4D is an area where we can do better.

He signed like 4+ guys for the AHL last offseason. We saw Clauge and he was not the problem. (How do you blame a 2-way guy)
He's drafted guys and has now signed them.
He signed Johnson. Who he did not draft (I think)
The "pipeline" has been dramatically improved from where it was. |

My guess is Washington trades up and this happens:
CHI: Bedard
ANA: Carlsson (surprise)
CBJ: Fantilli
SJS: Smith
WSH: Michkov
PHX: Dvorsky
PHI: Leonard
MTL: Reinbacher
DET: ASP
STL: Wood
VAN: Willander
PHX: Benson
BUF: Moore/Simashev

8 is better than 13 but I dont think the drop is that significant. We can offer more if need be IMO.

We can do better from 4 on. And those 3 or 4 guys from Rochester stunk, that's not depth. You go look at some of the playoff teams and they had depth in there system. |

This whole "he didn't fix the D" narrative is really an indictment of Bryson not being who we hoped he would be. Joker was 4D and he was fine. Boosh (a guy we did acquire) was fine on the bottom pair. Bryson didn't take the jump as 5D. If that's the big weakness.... ok.
We had a bunch Larrys that were forced to play after that, and most weren't good. Not sure why Pilut couldn't get a look. |

You're kidding, right? If you have to call up 3 and 4 guys from the AHL, you're in trouble. These guys are AHL vets that shuffle from team to team for a reason. You get Kyle Clague. WE absolutely should have more kids closer to the NHL, but they are still a crap shoot. |

It's not going to sink in no matter how many times or ways you try to explain it to some of these guys...I'm with you. KA is doing what he can without costing the future and taking baby step to ensure we have a strong core. I "trust the process" which will not be finished this season...period. Don't like it, find another team. |

He does have more work to do but he's turned every aspect of this team in the right direction.

Yes you can, if you actually try to. Drafting players in the 5th or 6th round is never for sure |
