I tend to agree. If Flyers fans are talking this highly of Michkov, the Flyers as well as other organizations I’m sure are doing the same. - SuperSchennBros
I think it’s possible Michkov falls to 6 and then the caps move up to take him.
1. Bedard
2. Fantilli
3. Carlsson
4. Smith
5. Leonard
6. _______
If so Flyers likely will be up with Reinbacher. If Coyotes really want Reinbacher though, then I think they stay at 6 which opens the door for Flyers to get Michkov. But all the smoke around MTL living Leonard could be a smoke screen. |

Lighten up man, Gritty is there for kids. They literally said one of the main reasons they created him was for community events that players couldn’t always attend because of travel or off-season. When the Phantoms were still in Philly the Flyers used Phlex and the Phantoms Patrol for those events and in between periods to toss tshirts around. - Schmojo
I will not….Gritty has come to symbolize the last 5 years of futility and a purposeful distraction from this organization’s ineptness at doing its core function. Do you also need a mascot to perform community outreach? |

Mascots are for the kids. Why would an adult be distracted by this?

This organization has eagerly made him for all intents and purposes the face of the team and promoted him as such. New mascot, rage rooms…et al. It’s just style over substance. You don’t have to like my reasoning, that’s fine. The focus truly hasn’t appeared to be improving the product on the ice for a while. Hopefully with new leadership, that’ll change. |

Latest from O’Connor and Rutherford for the Athletic says, even if they can’t work it out with Krug STL would still trade a 1st rd pick for Hayes with salary retained.
So really, Sanheim in the deal is for Krug, not as a way to get STL to take Hayes. They’re swapping Sanheim’s 8yr contract for Krug’s 4yr contract. Basically 2 separate deals made into 1. - Schmojo
Their article literally says the opposite of that. Blues are willing to include a first, but only if Flyers take a big contract in return. Only big contract Blues will pay to move is Krugs. |

Hayes, Sanheim, DeAngelo all mentioned in the latest rumors. According to the rumors Flyers will be retaining salary and perhaps receiving salary. If these rumors are true, people will likely be unhappy with the return or salaries. However, remember this, if these rumors are true, GMDB is making aggressive moves to undo some of Fletchers mistakes. Cut the losses and and move forward. Have to admire that |

2 guys clearly don’t fit….and Sanheim’s contract vs. Performance would be a good one to jettison as well. You hope DB is simply able to at least get bad contracts back with less term. When you see the reported TDA trade you really see what an INCOMPETENT gm Fletcher was. |

Yup
"But from their end, the Blues would only want to send a first-round pick to Philadelphia to unload a big contract, and the package going to the Flyers would need to include some salary anyway to help offset the trade financially." |

Agreed….but I wonder if Krug wanted to sleep on it…it’s a lot to take in. Be interesting what is in the deal if it indeed gets done. |

In jest obviously. I never remember seeing him last year, just thought I’d ask the STL fan what he thought. I know he was a pretty good d man in Boston, although that was a few years ago. |

Yea. It’s a great sign. Not every deal is going to be a home run. This reported deal is a good one for the flyers. Nothing great. It’s nice to see Danny can recognize that a player of sanheim’s ilk is just not worthy of that contract. It was ridiculous from the jump. Any future picks coupled with future roster/cap flexibility is a win. Danny is being quite coy. He wants to make big moves and they are going to be a bottom team next year |

If true retaining 50% and getting a nothing prospect back I rather hold onto him to see if you get a pick later. Maybe rather buy him out as this way you keep an extra retention spot and allows more flexibility to be a middleman in a deal to retain.
This move has Torts written all over it. He wants players gone no matter what.
Glad to see they want to move Sanheim out. |

Just wondering why so much of this trade leaked out. Is it coming from the blues side? Because the Provy deal was kept under wraps. To me it’s irresponsible to let all these details out without confirming NTC waivers from players. Why should anyone be shocked that Krug wouldn’t waive to come play for a bottomed out club while having to put up with Torts antics?
This team is going to be pond scum for 2 years minimal |

I was going to post something on this myself a little while ago because it can’t be making the two front offices happy. I’m inclined to believe this info came from an agent or a player. Perhaps this was just the natural progression of a complicated trade and all this was thus far was hammering out the basic pieces with the GMs having a plan A (waives NTC) and a plan B (involving a 3rd team concerning the NTC). Seems the info released was entirely premature and it’s likely just a stage in trade negotiations that are now made more complicated by terms leaking out. Just a theory but it’s really bad if the leak came from either front office. |

I see a lot of hate about Krug and I’m not defending Krug as a player. But at this point, if Sanheim, Provorov, and DeAngelo are gone, they are going to need someone to play defense. |

Can a team retain salary for more than two players at a time? I thought there was a limit to how many players a team can retain salary for? The reason I ask is the Flyers are obviously retaining quite a bit on Hayes, and I reading The Flyers will retain half of DeAngelo's salary to ship him back to Carolina. That would mean Sanheim going to St Louis would not have salary retention meaning the Flyers have to take a hefty contract back. Krug is the player I am hearing and at 32 I can see why he is not willing to lift his NMC for this deal. Maybe the Flyers can promise Krug they will ship him to a contender that might need him? Still with 4 years left on his contract that is going to be tough if the Flyers can't retain some. |

If Danny is able to get rid of both Hayes and Sanheim contracts and get even a late first round pick for them, it will be the trade of the century for the Flyers!

Krug is a good player but at this stage he wants to play for a contender. Danny just has to promise him he will be moved to a contending team and that should be enough to get this deal done. The problem is his contract at 4 years and $6.5M per. |

Teams have three slots they can retain salary on annually. So Hayes would take up a slot for three seasons, TDA one season, and they'd have one more slot available.

Any contending team will ask the flyers to retain. That forces the flyers to retain on two contracts for 3 and 4 years. One open slot. Unless the flyers are willing to absorb a bad contract. Danny be working that phone today |
