Flyers signed Louie Belpedio to a not 1 but 2 year deal. Apparently, DB learned much from CF -- already wasting contract slots. Imagine if that is our big splash after Provorov - mr4tno
There is nothing wrong with that deal. Every year teams sign veteran players for the AHL. His AAV is below the threshold where they can waive him and assign him to the AHL with no cap penalty. |

“ Just told the Flyers-Blues trade will not be finalized tonight. See you tomorrow with more. There’s a barstool calling my name tonight.”
Blame Krug. |

Trading Sanheim to unload Hayes. Kinda hate it.
We’ll see what the final details are though. - StepfordSam
This is true, but it eliminates the "trading x player of value to get rid of Sanheim's contract" in a year or two. |

They don't have to do that in a year or two. |

I mentioned using Laughton to move Hayes, Sanheim, somewhat the same. I am not one who thinks Sanheim does not hold value and can’t up his game, get fair return and fine but don’t be a dump |

Has five years of term remaining, makes only slightly less than Hayes and will be 32 in late August. Also has a NTC so he'd have to waive to come back to Flyers amid a rebuild. |

Going to be a lot of this. Philadelphia is not an attractive destination right now. |

From Pierre LeBrun:
“ Further to
@FriedgeHNIC
, Carolina working to complete a Tony DeAngelo trade which likely will be completed Sunday. Flyers would retain 50 percent on DeAngelo. Flyers would be getting a prospect from Carolina.”
Next couple of days are going to be real interesting. |

It feels good to have some optimism and know there’s an actual plan being executed for a change. |

yea i'm glad we aren't doing any of this half-assed retooling maybe we can have some exciting youth to watch in the next few years instead of constant mediocre stop gaps |

The fans have been begging for this for years. It was so obvious that they lacked any sort of star power. They had some nice players but no game changes.
I also am curious if the lockeroom (as has been alluded to several times) is so bad that they are totally gutting it, even some players that are young enough to fit the rebuild timeline. |

if hes a real good locker room guy for the kids in the ahl and a good ahl player, its probably a good move. Cant ignore those kids, they need good role models. I have no idea if he is, but if he is, im for the signing. hes not old, so he can relate to the young guys.

Depends on the assets. I did not believe that Sanheim is a max term player but he's still a good player. I'm not interested in giving him away just to get out from the contract. - MJL
Latest from O’Connor and Rutherford for the Athletic says, even if they can’t work it out with Krug STL would still trade a 1st rd pick for Hayes with salary retained.
So really, Sanheim in the deal is for Krug, not as a way to get STL to take Hayes. They’re swapping Sanheim’s 8yr contract for Krug’s 4yr contract. Basically 2 separate deals made into 1. |

Great at what? Being a distraction for team’s failures? Please tell me you aren’t gullible enough to fall the management board’s lazy attempts to placate fans while they sold everyone a steaming pile of nonsense. - Sublime55
Lighten up man, Gritty is there for kids. They literally said one of the main reasons they created him was for community events that players couldn’t always attend because of travel or off-season. When the Phantoms were still in Philly the Flyers used Phlex and the Phantoms Patrol for those events and in between periods to toss tshirts around. |
