same here, what's not to like... Dach is only 22, so he's 3 years younger than Dubois, and he's potentially got plenty of upside left to show imho. anyone who says he's already hit his ceiling hasn't really been paying attention to his game.

who's reporting this? it isn't all that surprising anyway, it's a business after all, and it's expected that there's back and forth between both parties involved when it comes to negotiating a multi-year deal, but because of his "red flag" reputation, people will automatically assume that he's the one being difficult.

Never believed PLD had a primary goal of getting to Montreal. From the beginning his agent used Montreal as a negotiation wedge. "My guy would love Montreal" has the singular purpose of making it known that you need to pay more if you want him in LA or on any other team.

Dubois is no different than most players. He wants to play for a team that will pay him the most money. It is too bad. He can be a dominate player and with the right attitude he could be a great fan favourite.

Perhaps some context as to why the Jets/Kings have become silent over the past several hours...

Told by a couple people today that Dubois' camp hadn't been given permission yet to talk extension with the Kings. Uncertain if that has changed as of now.

On PLD, Pierre Lebrun says LAK is the front runner having assets ready to play in the NHL, Habs are earlier in their rebuild. Both the Jets, LAK and the agents were all traveling to Nashville for the NHL award and the draft, negotiation will continue in Nashville.

To be fair. Their projections were very close until Dach lost his hand for 2 years. At this point, PLD is and probably will continue to be the better player with the better ceiling. But this shouldn't be a Dach vs PLD, unless you're framing it in terms of value paid for the potential asset.
