Drury had a good start with his moves at the 2022 deadline but once he took the Patty Kane (at 60% health) bait and ruined the team vibe he needs to find a way to redeem himself. Hoping there’s a surprise move out there but not confident either. |

Made up for his bad moves when he took over in the off season of 2022*. |

Im holding out hope that the Kraken see value in Goodrow and will take him. I think Goodrow would waive for them. Young, up and coming team, already a playoff contender and his buddy Gourde is the captain. |

I don't think the Kane move happened without upward pressure in the organization. Once Kane said the only place he would go were the Rangers and price was not a first rounder immediately, the die was cast |

True. I think Drury was probably pushed into this role before he was ready, suggesting he might not really be in complete control. JD and Gordon pushed back and look what happened to them. Not a great way to run a franchise, don’t need to become the Knicks 2.0 |

No I got it. Dolan got involved and Drury was forced to do it against his (lack evidence of) better judgment. Point is he still did it. |

Well you saw what happened to JD and Gorton when their opinions differed from those of Dolan. |

That only adds to my point that James Dolan is an idiot. Hence why his meddlesome ways has resulted in zero championships for his 2 sports teams. |

Another tidbit worth sharing with free agency less than a week away: I'm hearing that Tyler Motte is likely to test the UFA market. Door remains open for a #NYR return, but chances of getting a deal done before Saturday don't sound great.
burn another pick on him next deadline? |

The thing is they do need a spot for Cuylle. I love Motte but he may block someone else if he’s here. Imo, Ideally the 4th line is Cuylle and Vesey, with a center not known yet or Goodrow. Cuylle has to make the team, for numerous reasons, but one being his ELC. Then a year or two Cuylle moves up. But he’s a perfect player for us to groom and shelter on the 4th line starting next season |

I think Cuylle has the tools to follow a similar trajectory as Lawson Crouse. |

But you need depth if he is not ready and that has been an issue on this team. Why Ryan Carpenter etc ended up filling spots. Motte wants to be in NY and knows his market price is not a major impediment, so you find a way to get a deal done. |

I think they end up with Wheeler for a mil+. He’s a good fit imo. I think they need someone higher up then say Motte would be. And I see Motte getting 2 mill don’t you? That’s a little rich for us |
