Hathaway is nice but he can’t be a 3rd liner. That’s why I see Wheeler a better fit. He’s got more offense in him, he had a good season. I feel like Bjugstad is gonna get too much for us, close to 4 mill by someone. He’ll be the guy this summer we all say what?? How much? Just a gut feeling
Perry is possible too (much to the chagrin of many ) - Slimtj100
Unless Wheeler gets bought out, how are you fitting that salary in? |

How are we gonna get Wheeler here unless hes 75% retained?
The only thing I can think of is hopping on the CGY sinking ship and make a trade for Toffoli (50% retained) and Dylan Dube. |

Given his background and room just created, wonder if he goes back to Boston |

I dont know what their plan is for Bertuzzi, but they still have Frederic, Hathaway, Nosek and Swayman to resign. I wonder if they trade Ullmark. |

I read your posts. You want trocheck to play rw. You love Lawson crouse. You aren’t sure chytil fits in as a 2c or a 3C. You like long walks on the beach |

Curious if he’s tight with Trouba. I know that team had some locker room issues tho. Just an affordable idea I had. They really need a top 9 guy and a 4th line guy. Not two 4th line guys |

I could get on board for Toffoli or Boeser (with retainment). Like getting Kane and Tarasenko, it still exists where we’re a RW short of a really good lineup. Just have to find an affordable one |

Not sure about Wheeler. Read some less than glowing things about his leadership in the Peg. And that group certainly proved to be dysfunctional.
Also, and I'm not advocating either direction, Motte will get $1.5M at most, IMO. 19 points in 62 games making $1.35 and $1.225M before that. |

See thats what I feel like I read as well, that he was not particularly good in the locker room. If anyone would know, Trouba would.
I like Motte’s energy, but I feel like at 1.5m there are better players available. |

Same as Tony, not advocating for Motte either way, but I think the estimates thrown around here are on the high side. The guy is constantly on the move, I’m sure he’d love a 2 year deal at 1.15mil per season. Now that clogs a spot for a kid and you have to pencil Motte in for about 20 games on the IL. Does Motte do enough to warrant a 2 year deal? Depends on what you expect from a 4th liner.
Ultimately, the play of the 4th line is overrated anyway. If the stars don’t play like stars and the kids don’t take huge strides, it won’t come down to Tyler Motte if the Rangers fail or succeed. |
