I can see them having a cap hit of around 70M at the start of the season. They will be 13M under the cap and accruing cap space all the way to the deadline. KD will be fielding calls at the TDL to take on some cap dumps. - boilermaker100
This much under the cap, LTIiR you won’t accrue anything. Only beneficial if at or near the cap day 1 |

I'm not talking about LTIR. I was referring to deadline cap space. Maybe accrue is the wrong word. If a team starts the season 13M below the cap, its deadline cap space will be much higher, right? |

Because there were not enough able bodied men of that age to draft

Beauuuuuuuuutiful!! KD gave him 4 mil!!! An overpay but who cares on a 1 yr deal. Helluva guy to have in the room with a young squad, adds plenty of grit and physicality on the ice.
Now, gimme Hathaway and my concerns are satisfied. Hathaway has great size, can skate an NHL shift and is a bonafide fighter. - Mr Ricochet
And you have added another piece that can go at the traded deadline...

Big city, original 6 franchise, rabid fan base that fills the arena even in bad times, adding a generational player. Pretty easy to find 16 places he'd less like to go. Start with Arizona. - scottak

Honzek over Danielson?! - Assman22
I think I like BUT over both, b/c.
I think DANIELSON will be gone, and does provide rugged play and hard work.

The older guys skewed to higher ranks. The point of the spear was younger. |

One other question about Hall that I have not seen here. Will his heart be in it or is he dreading coming to a team that is pretty awful. He might like playing with Bedard, but he is at the place in his career where winning and playoff hockey means a lot. - -Doh-
Welll.......play like a stud, and teams will be clammering for you at the deadline!!!
......and, overpay!!!!!!

Wow, Forsling, Rutta and Leddy have proven to be pretty solid NHL defensemen and I believe all 3 have played regular top 4 shifts on Stanley Cup contenders.
While they won't be going to the HOF, they're far from failures. - scottak
