Why are people so hell bent on immediately trading Hall? Don't the Hawks need to 1) Ice a team, and 2) have some actual NHL forwards to play with the kids?
Hall and Foligno are precisely the kind of players I would think the Hawks wand to sign. Good solid vets that have been around and know about playing 200'. - Chunk

Just under 10 million left to spend to get to the cap floor now, I mean this is a great move IMO. What I also like is now if they look to move Hall retaining half to bring him down to 3 million is huge. - Zach Jarom
Its less than that, Zach. They are showing only 15 players on Capfriendly and by the time you fill out a full roster they are only a mill or so away from the floor |

In sum, business decision for the B's, Hawks did good by getting leadership and skill to play with Bedard. |

Ya this just doesn't seem painful enough for the Bruins. At least squeeze them for something like a 2nd round pick next year or beyond. - RickJ
Only one year left on their contract. We received a very good player, not some bum on the decline. And Foligno is a descent player who may fit on lines 1-3 more likely some time with Bedard
Too bad we couldn’t give them C Jones instead of Mitchell. I would rather give Mitchell another year to turn on his game than be frustrated with C Jones. If C Jones actually became a consistent performer, won’t happen in Chicago
And perhaps IF there was any inclination what type of style game a draft prospect brings, now KD can just go after the prospect he wants most
I have seen some people on this board want a big tough forward with modest ability in round two. This prospect may still be available IF that is who KD wants most |

Bedard
Hall
Reichel
AA
Raddysh
T. Johnson
Katchouk
Guttman
Richardinson
Anderson
Foligno?
R. Johnson
Am I forgetting anybody? Hope they add Domi or Compher. I am over the R. Johnson experiment. He does nothing for me. I know it will be a struggle, but subtract R. Johnson and add Domi or Compher, this forward group looks a helluva lot better than a year ago. |

2 years left on Hall. Foligno is a pending free agent who may or may not sign here. Hawks have his exclusive signing rights until July 1. I would assume KD asked for him to be included in the trade instead of a B or C level prospect, because he wants to sign him and be part of the team next season.

Entwistle & Blackwell are missing. Anderson maybe destined for Rockford. I can see a couple of more free agent forwards signed. Are Blackwell and D!ckinson expendable since Hall and possibly Foligno are filling the veteran roles? |

Good call Boiler, Entwhistle can go too, thought Blackwell played better right before he got hurt. |

I think if Mitchell was not included, KD wouldn’t have qualified him. Too small, too slow, and not talented enough as an offensive defenseman to offset his defensive deficiencies.

Because Hall has averaged only 40 games per year for the last 7 years. - Ztra
He played 61 this year, 81 last season, and I’m pretty sure your find a lot of guys who didn’t play a full 82 game season the two seasons before that.
He played 53 out of a possible 56 (although he was traded so he may have played all available games) in 20-21 and played 65 out of a possible 70 the season before. |

Who thinks we might get More than one of the 1000 best hockey players in teh world with most of our picks?
(Ian Mitchel / Boston reference.)
Except for moving up in the bottom first you STAY where we ARE in what Nashville Barry Trotz called the "best draft ever."
(You see? Last year I was lying to you.)
I just wish, that a week before the draft my cowboy Rick o shay hadn't made me think Daniiil But IS the best pick at #19... |

Just my thought on KD not getting a little extra something from Boston.
KD has been on the job for what? 16-18 months. Not raking Boston over the coals just may be his way of building up some goodwill amongst the other GMs in the league.
Regardless, I see the point of the trade but I've never been much of a Taylor Hall fan. We'll see how it works out.
Funny that there was all this build up with Hayes and STL, PLD and the Kings and it's KD and the Hawks that make a splash. |

Yes, Blackwell and D!ckinson are expendable as all but a handful of Hawks are, but I like both players, especially D!ckinson. Great size, plays center, nice compete, skated 15:30 per game, stayed healthy, 112 hits and scored 30 pts last yr in 78 games last yr starting 43% of his shifts outside the Ozone. . His fancy's are pretty bad and he was a -29 but he fills a need and is center depth...... If it's Bedard, T Johnson, Guttman down the middle D!ckinson would make for a decent 4C.
Blackwell is a solid bottom six, high compete, good forechecker. ..... Both players are expendable, but both bring a certain value to the squad too. |

Likely Blackwell and D!ckinson traded at the deadline. Good depth pieces for contending teams. Hope they stay healthy. Maybe get a couple of 3rd rounders.

Wiz, if you take out the Russian factor of no scouts seeing But live, no international competition, the worry he'll die on some battlefield in Ukraine and the kid played Major Junior this yr IMO he's the first big man off the board and goes about 10th overall if not inside the top 10.
Scouts/GM's salivate over guys 6ft 5in that can skate and shoot with silky hands. Indeed, they are rare and But is one of those guys......... If the Hawks get this kid at 19 they may have something special in the pipeline. But there is risk..... KD took 2 of 3 guys with size in the 1st rd last yr so maybe he's cognizant of prioritizing size? |

My Guy Dobber points out Hall was brought into BUF to tutor and skate with Eichel and that didn't work out too well....... He's also very high on Raddysh and Reichel.
https://dobberhockey.com/...all-traded-to-blackhawks/ - Mr Ricochet
I’m bullish on Raddysh too, I’ve like him since his draft year and wanted the Hawks to take him instead of Krys.
There’s been lots of talk that Kurashev will be the only current Blackhawks forward (not including Reichel) that will be with the team when they are relevant again. While I think Kurashev could certainly stick around for a few years I think Raddysh has a better chance. Raddysh is top 6 now, but as the team gets better he could still contribute on the 3rd line. |
