Beauuuuuuuuutiful!! KD gave him 4 mil!!! An overpay but who cares on a 1 yr deal. Helluva guy to have in the room with a young squad, adds plenty of grit and physicality on the ice.

Now, gimme Hathaway and my meatball concerns are satisfied. Hathaway has great size, can skate an NHL shift and is a bonafide fighter.

Every agent is sending KD gift cards LOL

Ha ha. Good one LA. I'm surprised at the amount but its only 1 year. 2 years at 3.75M got him on waivers in 10/22 but that's on a stacked B's team.

In a fire fight do you think you wait for orders from Central Command? That doesn’t seem to be working for the Russians does it.

That's the hidden value in this trade. I've heard/read a lot of complaints that KD didn't get a draft pick or other assets in addition to Hall. I don't think it was that type of of deal, plus the Bruins don't have much to offer.

KD will re-coop any "missing" draft picks when Hall is dealt at the 2025 deadline, and I fully expect he will be dealt. Barring a catastrophe I think LD should get at least a 2nd for Hall.

- DarthKane

I'm sure for the right price Hall could end up being traded even this year, if the Hawks eat 50% for the following season as well. I think KD probably figures Hall will do like Domi and increase his value by having additional opportunity with Chicago having less competition for icetime.

I think the point of the exec's question was to find out how well he takes instruction. Will he listen and do what is suggested/told. How much of a team player is he? Analize the question and it is not so far-fetched. Hey Wiz, hope you are resting up for tomorrow night!

Don’t forget this is the last year of T. Johnson’s contract. Would be moveable at $2.5 mil. After 50% retained

I keep hearing rumors about the possibility of Tarasenko signing with the Hawks. I don't believe that will happen. I am sure he wants to win another cup and he didn't do all that well with the Rangers. Bring in the youngbloods and lets grow that tree for years to come.

It would be wonderful if KD had to make that decision!! I too doubt Danielson would get past DET at 17 but you never know. I'm a big Honzek guy but getting a center the size and quality of Danielson is tough to pass up.

Easy now, Grasshopper. The club is still in semi tank mode and a Celebrini or Eiserman next yr would make this club a serious contender in 5 yrs.

Insulate Bedard and allow him Vlasic and Kaiser to develop properly and the yr is a success.

Doesn’t it seem that Kurashev had better make a niche for himself, better improve or become more valuable in his role

ELSE

There is a slew of forwards who will start filtering through primarily at Rockford as apprenticeship

And although each is not exactly the same as Kurashev

All these drafted - particularly KD choices - could push Kurashev out of a job or in a platoon or shuffle in and out of lineup

Kurashev needs to become better and starting this season

- jhawk59

Why is everyone holding Kurashev to this high standard as if he was a 1st round pick that was looked at as a sure thing? He’s done a decent job as a 4th round pick and is still quite young at 23. I think he’s done better than expected tbh.

5 years after Celebrini/Eiserman? They'll be serious long before then IMO.

Highly doubt that happens now with Hall in the fold. Can't see them paying 2 wingers over 30 a combined ~$12m.

As a guy who watched tons of AA's junior in London, playing with Chris Tierney, Domi, Greg McKegg, Austin Watson, THESE are the guys I have to watch to get any idea of who/what can move up.
I loved Tierney and AA's competitiveness, but in the back of my mind, I look at the links in their armor and the strengths ands attempt to press pass the now to the NHL.
I loved AA's junior game for its speed and instincts there was something there to cheer for. I watched how he lasted to the 4th rd. to the Red Wings, and I guess I never lost the impression to even last season, that al the speed didn't ever balance out the amount of pucks he lost in the process.

So I ask, as someone as experienced and has watched as many clips, videos, and highlights as you have... seen players in person and on screens... is he REALLY that transcendental? Or is there a certain element of conforming bias in opinions from experts that has swallowed up any kind of rational perspective out there.

Omigosh, I cannot feel anything but excitement because he is MORE than any team can expect.

This is an individual that does not fit any comparison, and is not even thinking he is close to through perfecting hie abilities.

I started with the shot.
I simply couldn't figure out if the goalies blew, or the shot was more than met my eye.
I analyze each shot (more and more much to my family's ire.
The only person close to having that release and sucess was Michel Bossy.
I didn't want to believe it. I am not going to make a comment that makes me look like a exaggerating hockey fanboy...but I kept watching this kid look far better than his weight class, and thinking size and nhl speed would humble him.

I don't think at this juncture, even though my team is getting him, that he is different, so different then the rest.
He is a new template, that cannot be called McDavid, or Matthews or Crosby.
He has assembled so many rehearsed attacking plans that the league will never get their video teams cUGHT UP.
It has less to do with what anyone says is his upside, or who he compares to.
He is the new template and all others in the future drafts will be compared to them.

Well, the NBA San Antonio's first rounders already being called the best player ever as his upside.
McDavid is even. better than he was in Eire, but that's what stars do: improve and excel.

Before I say more, if you are the guy in the suit at the games, I want to apologize for when I told you to take your blackbird ass out of my section...

This is really something different.
He simply doesn't fit a comparison. The Hockey News tried using Joe Malone, a 150 lb. 5'10" wing who scored143 goals in 126 games in his career 1917-1924.
No one was close to his totals.

Bedard is, well, my dream for over 3 years, and now as his season continued, he simply showed this WHAT he wants TO do, and will not stop in his growing his scoring.
It is alright for you to be skeptical, but I feel after he scores a dozen nhl goals it will dissipate and you will embrace the fact he is not Patrick KANE...BUT MUCH, MUCH more.

From your lips to God's ears, Wiz.

Yeah agree. Powers mentioned a magic number of $10M to get to the floor. With Hall's 6M and Foligno's 4M, the Hawks have reached it.
