Agree 100%. Same thing with St-Louis. A veteran assistant coach could not hurt.

He’s getting a ring before the habs
- WaterBoy

well, if the habs get it before, that would mean they've failed in LA, they're in "win now" mode.

If so, thats kind of funny

Newhook has tons of speed, he should fit in nicely with what they are building. Hopefully he can develop with more ice-time, as he should get a bigger role than what he had in Colorado.

Yes, the price was steep and its a gamble...but they have been drafting a lot of guys in the last few seasons. With the contracts limit, you can't sign them all.

yep, we see it the same way.
now just have to relax and enjoy the draft. easy decision, let the first 4 GMs pick and take whoever is left.

You are assuming the russian will go top 5

I say you are assuming wrong

anyway, they should get a good player there, regardless

I'll make a non fun prediction. I say Will Smith is gone when it's the Habs' turn to speak, they'll swap their pick a few ranks back (Washington seems like a realistic trade partner) to avoid Michkov and pick Leonard or Reinbacher

Wouldn't surprise me a bit.

he was so good that after he left this historic franchise decided for the first time in over 100 years it was time for a complete rebuild.

is drafting Michkov that risky..? how many times has a drafted Russian player refused or was prevented from playing in the NHL?
