the one thing I find frustrating is that the reactions are the same as though Trevor Timmins was behind it again. let's give them a chance for (frank)'s sake...
- Pat1993

TBH I never mentionned Trevorre once! I'm keeping things real.

What about if this scenario : They draft Nemec last year and Michkov this year. Now they have a stud RHD and a potential superstar player.

thank you mr.scout

I think it was rather obvious we needed top line talent more than defensive talent. Montreal hasn’t had top line talent since the late 90’s honestly. It’s mind numbing.

you didn't have to mention him, my point is your reaction is the same kind we heard when it was Timmins at the draft table.

I don't get the frustration though. personally I would've went with Michkov as well, but for now I'm gonna have a piece of humble pie and wait to see how this pans out, instead of being all pissy about it. it's a new management team, let's see what they can do.

well to be fair they weren't going for a hidden gem as you're saying, Reinbacher was projected to go high in the draft on most lists. it just isn't a "sexy" pick like the Michkov one would've been.

people are reacting as though it's already a flop, but perhaps time will prove us that it wasn't a bad decision after all. none of us are scouts (except for bigmacdaddy of course), so we don't know poop compared to those guys.

- Pat1993

to be fair, he was more 7-9 on most list...ya I know its not like 17-19

but there definitly frustration linked to the past too

Well, you have the right attitude, lets hope he gonna be good !

Well, seems like new management just continues to do the same asinine decisions as previous management teams at the draft. We all know montreals track record for drafting high is rather pathetic. It’s exhausting to continuously have no top line talent year after year, decade after decade when they have had chances to rectify that.

I think the frustration is because KK is so fresh in our minds, hell even RDS still covers everything he does.

This has some truth to it, yes. Agreed. Hated that pick and still do.

The hardest thing to get are centers, the best were off the board. The next is a D man, pref RH, they got that.

Just because MB and Co. admitted they reached for KK or Chuckie does not mean HuGo did the same here.

Obviously, the Habs believe they got the BPA.

Also, seems stupid to lose my poop over whether I approve the pick or not, when I have no ideas if it will pan out for 2-3-4 years.

Time will tell.

Also, I am sure they have a detailed roadmap/plan in place, and this pick fits right into that.

On a different note, Carey seemed to handle the limelight of the draft when announcing the pick well. Maybe he’s got a future in public speaking engagements.

My word was that ever a ‘cringe’ moment. It’s two words Carey…..First and last name and it’s not even that difficult of a name

Now imagine if or when Reinbacher is a second pairing and Michvok is a human highlight reel. Kk over Tkachuk is nothing compared to this.

Decades. We will be hearing about it until we die.

Now imagine Michkov never comes to the NHL. Or does when he is 28. Or gets sent to the front lines in Ukraine and gets blown up into 50 pieces.

Or Reinbacher becomes the next Hedman.

Like FFS.

It is done.

Get over it.
