I did.
Combined with the fact no one saw him play live.... there was no way they were gambling that much on him when a potential first pair RHD was sitting there. - Scabeh
All I ever saw, on every channel, was the same goal where he scores, falls, and crashes into the (Swedish?) goalie. Just that play.
You are right, no one has really seen him play in a long time, so to understand his development curve would be hard. Not to mention, the Habs have an in with his KHL team in Nick Bobrov. So I am sure the research was done.
We will know if this was the right call in a few years.
Not worried though.

Don't you read other forums? We have to fire Hughes and Gorton or something now. - jugkope
They said the same thing last year...

Probably the same idiots that bought a Shane Wright Habs jersey last year. |

I'm happy with our pick.
Michkov would have been an exciting choice but Reinbacher sounds like a very smart one.

Yeah, I agree.
The 3 goalie picks surprised me though.

I'm a fan of the first two they drafted considering the rank of seletion. Both look like interesting projects.
No idea about the third one.
At least we have options in the pipeline now.

Not worried that 90% of every top-10 pick Gorton has been a part of has been a bust? |

No see that's why it makes sense to pick the safe guy. |

Habs are far from done making moves imo.
Hughes has been very vocal about trying to not lose assets for nothing so I doubt he just rolls the dice on losing Primeau through waivers.
Unless they really gave up on him.

not sure what the projections in general are but a lot of fans seem to think Reinbacher is a 2nd pairing guy, which I find would make it a very odd choice for the habs if that was the case lol |

his floor is 2nd line which is what people who don't like the pick use, his ceiling is 1st pair D |

I've heard people call him the next David Fischer.
He has top pair potential for sure but we don't know how he'll turn out.

he's safe pick because he plays a mature game already in a pro league. He's not the sexy all offense player |

he needs to bulk up like Guhle did when he was drafted, let's be patient with him, another year in the Swiss league and he will stronger and better prepared |

I'm thinking more Ekholm, McDonagh type - will get his 35-50 points just by spending a lot of time on the ice with the top line. |
