Isn't it though? - The Judge
The regime sent out the talking points.
Everyone went from KK lady face to Josi 2.0, "some had him projected 2nd" overnight |

I did.
Combined with the fact no one saw him play live.... there was no way they were gambling that much on him when a potential first pair RHD was sitting there. - Scabeh
Jagr was a punk at that age too, Would have still wanted him |

I'm happy with our pick.
Michkov would have been an exciting choice but Reinbacher sounds like a very smart one. - Scabeh
Some experts say he s the 2nd franchise player behind Bédard |

I was a hesitant Michkov. For the reason that if he does not come over in three years, or should he not meet expectations, the media just be an absolute female dog for years. And we would also have a contingent of fans looking for a nice piece of rope to hang themselves with.
My other option was either Reinbacher, because of the crushing need at this position, or Leonard for the in your face style which the Habs could also very much use.
The more I am reading on Reinbacher though, the more I think the right move was made for this team and it's needs for the rebuild. - The Judge
Reinbacher was the logical and safe choice (no Russia risk): he fills a positional need (RHD), he has good size and is a good skater.
Michkov is a small winger and we already have a lot of those, wingers are also much easier to trade for than RHD's or C's.
I definitively prefer our pick, Arizona were probably swearing after Montreal picked him.. |

I've read from a couple of sources that his skating is just OK and he needs to work on that for the NHL, also not the greatest hands and puck carrier.
All sources seem to agree that his strenghts are his two-way game and good decision making on defense and his shot, he always finds a way to get it on net. - Fredo
If he becomes Lindholm, job well done. |
