pretty sure Smith was their guy if he would still have been there, but he was gone like most expected

as much as people like goals and want them, go ask Toronto what happens if you build your team around 4 forwards and one defenseman for the most part

You can't single out Toronto and ignore that 99% of cup winners have an elite game changer. It's like the people who are against rebuilds pointing to Edmonton and conveniently leaving out that 99% of cup winners went through a rebuild. You go with what has the highest percentage of working.

On a positive note, if this guy turns out to be a stud the defense is going to be (frank)ing scary good in a few years
