Love the pick.

Would have been awesome to take Sandin/Moore as well and have a pick next round. I hope Hronek is worth the price.

Yep, no problem with the pick either. Just feels a little bit like one step forward, two steps back. Have no idea why they felt compelled to trade away 2 solid picks after the Horvat trade. Draft was already hyped and after the last pick of the 1st round, they literally just said it feels like a round 1 and a half with all the great talent left on the board.

Molendyk was a bit of a shocker. Good smooth D, but quite a reach for him to go at 24.

Bcus they got a proven top 4 D in Hronek who's just coming into his prime and will potentially be our top RD for the next X amount of years with Willander coming in soon afterwards.

Quality over quantity isn't automatically 2 steps back.

What you should be really angry about is giving up a 2nd for Riley fawking Sh$tman + Richardinsons cap dump - we actually should have held onto him - he had a bounce back year (after playing thru injury here) on the worst team in the league AND we wouldn't be 3C shopping in free agency.

btw sorry for the optimism - I know its frowned upon in here. I'll walk my way out.

You could replace the "any Swedish Player" with "Undersized Winger" and get two birds stoned

Good pick by Winnipeg, feel bad for Barlow, but good pick.

Someone was saying how Charlie Stramel was a 3rd round pick in here.

Canucks really don't need anymore small players. They need right hand Swedish D though. They got rid of Myrenberg this year.

Arizona crapped the bed. What were they thinking? Using Lefty’s list?

Lol your countless posts about him trading away the pick or getting a small forward are priceless.

Time for Vancouver media to finally figure out his name is pronounced Wee-lander instead of Will-ander.

Annoying the (frank) out of me already.

Haha no need to walk out. Just opinions and taking the piss mostly round here.

I feel like dealing with yzerman is like dealing with the devil. Like he knows something you don’t. Maybe he created some urgency that led to the chipmunk overpaying (IMHO) considering this year’s draft. Haven’t really seen hronek enough to form an opinion whether I like him or not, just seemed like a lot with respect to how bare prospect cupboards are.

For sure on stillman, that was a brutal deal. 2nd round pick for a million cap savings.

They used that cap space for Bear... so really the 2nd was for Bear who they will probably let walk.

Any second rd picks worth taking? Would be interesting if we could get one of the first couple picks tomorrow if there was a trade and get a player that fell like Heidt.

But I was curious if there’s any big gritty forwards that fell or are projected to be in round 2?
