Seravalli believes Canucks have had a deal on the table for Tyler Myers for weeks. He believes the deal is with the Sharks. He's not sure what the hold up is or whether the trade will get done.

Of those five picks in the 3rd and 4th rounds I just hope they can get two players. Both dmen in the third round have a lot of promise to play NHL games, the others, not so much. - LeftCoaster
They could get Ty Mueller for free after today. Once he passed through the draft he would be a college free agent.

Only two more picks in the draft and no centers taken.
Matthew Perkins???
https://www.eliteprospect...er/569305/matthew-perkins
Another undersized overager?
Why are they wasting picks? - manvanfan
Perkins isn't that undersized - can easily put on 10-15lbs
Don't like the Mueller pick at all - wouldve liked Hoyt Stanley instead
Seems like centers are all gone - this is the 4th round bud

I would’ve preferred this kid.

Perkins is a January birthday of last class, less than a PPG USHL player, that doesn't really show NHL player. |

Exactly, most of these kids have very little chance at an NHL career, but you never know. Garland and Bear were 5th round picks. |

I would have also. Score at the same pace as Perkins in the same league at a year and a half younger.
Axel Landen would have been nice as well. |

I got no idea who he is.

Based on this draft, and the last one, it seems like the new Canucks management is extremely high on hockey IQ. Intelligence and ability to process the game is mentioned in just about every prospect profile I look at. |

Were at the point of the draft where if you expect people to know names, you've had one too many breakfast hot dogs

I don't know about if they fixed the D? Wouldn't that depend on how many of them actually play in the NHL in the future?
I don't mind the Willander pick. I do find it funny that his name has come up many times on these boards as a player to fill the role and when he was selected the reaction was more of a disappointment because we didn't draft an undersized winger with skill? You really can't win.
Time will tell how this draft worked out, but I am not excited nor am I disappointed. We will see in a few years how we did. |

if 2/3 dmen hit and are decent it will go a long way, pretty happy they emphasized the area they've lacked in most for a decade. |

Vancouver selects double-overage, Ty Mueller at 106.
He put up a reasonable level of points this year in the NCAA. But is quite vanilla across the board.

Hunter Brzustewicz goes to VAN at No. 75.
As an underage player, he looked like he could've been a first-round pick. Hasn't shown that level of upside since, but makes a strong first pass on the right side and has projectable skating.

Pretty strong opinion there, I think you've said a variation of this every year for the last 5 or so drafts |

Nice to see multiple Defensemen drafted earlier than the 4th or 5th round that's for sure. I wonder how far away Willander is, they're probably hoping he's ready after next season |
