I don't care. My point being that Blueger is not capable of 3rd line centre. I didn't read the rest of your nonsense. - Marwood

The Calgary Flames are one of the worst drafting teams in the National Hockey League, so there is that...at least. - LeftCoaster
Yet they took Lipinski, who plays in the Canucks backyard. It doesn’t help when you pick 13-18 all the time, never had a pick higher than 4th oa, and still manage to finish ahead of the Canucks for so many years.
Don’t worry by adding more 4-6 D men, Canucks should be able to move into that elusive 17th spot.
I see some on here having Cole playing on the first pairing, Soucy on the 2nd, great signings. |

Don't worry, I wasn't trying to put the Canucks ahead of the Flames in this regard, we all know how poorly the Canucks have drafted over the past many years. I'm hopeful that will change under Allvin and his diverse group. |

2nd Round picks are overrated.

There will be no need for sweetners to be added, hyperbole at it's finest. - Makita
Yup.
They may be stuck with them at the start of the season but should be movable by the trade deadline. Worst case scenario, they can always be MTA'd. |

Evan Rodrigues and Will Lockwood will join OEL in Florida.
Still don't know how I feel about the week. Yes we improved but I think we are still a bubble team and for that I would have rather stayed at 11 pick and kept our draft picks.
There could be a number of reasons for the Hronek trade. The hockey should be better for sure, and I am actually looking forward to seeing DPetey Lickermakki and Willander make the team in a couple of years, but I would have liked to had the picks. I get a bit of mixed messages. If the plan was to be a good playoff team this year they failed IMO but if the plan was to tread water this year and build the future at the same tim, then they did OK.
The middle sucks. Be really good or really bad.
I think Willander will turn out to be a good pick. |

Canucks had 14 second picks during that timeframe, so yes, they traded a lot of them away, and like many of the teams I mentioned, they were largely successful in the win column. Although, they lost game seven of the Cup finals, every other team below won the Cup.
As you can see below, part of the reason the Canucks haven't been successful is they don't put enough stock into the draft.
Canucks - 14 picks
Blues - 27 picks
Penguins - 19 picks
Blackhawks - 37 picks (5 in the past two years)
Lightning - 25 picks
Avalanche - 29 picks
Red Wings - 34 picks (5 in the past two years) |

There’s nothing more common than MTA’s, players don’t really want to make money. My new conspiracy is that you’ve been nuck4u this whole time. |

Red Wings sign Rafferty Holl, Compher five x five. Nothing really great coming from Stevie O. O for overrated. |

The scouting department is pretty much Canuck's alumni.
Delorme and Gradin aren't exactly new school scouts.

You're kinda clueless and just generally full of poison. You should seek help!! Delorme and Gradin aren't "pro scouts", which he was referring to, they're part of the amateur scouting staff. The amateur scouting staff has 12 guys in it, only two, Delorme and Gradin, are ex-Canucks.
Dumbass!! |

Tom Willander is clearly the best skater of the defencemen through the first drills.
Joni Jurmo and Elias Pettersson probably rounded out the top three. - VANTEL
D-Petey could become a serviceable depth dman, happy with that pick. |

From what I have seen of him play I think of Edler. I hope Jurmo has a strong year. He is sort of forgotten about.
What I have seen of Willander in the last few days I really like.
Baby steps.

Stevie Yzerman...probably the best GM over the past 15 years, damn that guy is so good at what he does. We got Jim Benning though, so there is that.
The Red Wings have selected 52 times in the draft since Yzerman took over them in April 2019, the Canucks 33, which again tells you part of the reason why the Canucks will never be successful unless they start putting more stock into the NHL entry draft.
Also, since Yzerman took over the Red Wings in April 2019 they've had 19 first and second rounds picks, the Canucks 5....LOL.
2019 - Red Wings 74 points, Canucks 81 points (no playoffs)
2020 - Red Wings 39 points, Canucks 78 points (bubble playoffs)
2021- Red Wings 48 points, Canucks 50 points (no playoffs)
2022 - Red Wings 74 points, Canucks 94 points (no playoffs)
2023 - Red Wings 80 points, Canucks 83 points (no playoffs) |
