I think you're missing the point. One year deal can be traded at deadline fills a need for the season. Not big money not long term and helps the pk.

I'm not a big fan of FA day and the bloated deals. What Cap space he had, disappears immediately. It hasn't worked for us in the past 5-10 years, - I'd just rather see some trust/promotion from within, or trades.

Looking forward to the rogue backyard fireworks displays in Cumberland tonight. Some neighbours shell out some big money for some of these displays.

Blueger had more points in 1 season two years ago in Pitt than Dries has career points.

New Canucks defenceman Ian Cole led the Tampa Bay Lightning in shorthanded ice time last season.

He was 17th in the NHL last season for shorthanded ice time from a defenceman.

One year deal at $3,000,000.

Carson Soucy was 7th-best defenceman in the NHL for expected goals against per 60 on the penalty kill

Ate up the third-most minutes out of the Seattle defenceman on the PK. Expect Soucy to be a big part of the Canucks' shorthanded unit. He will be asked to do more here though.

PA did say they were looking for better PK defenders. That does fill up the left side though. Brisebois and Wolanin in tough.

It's not cherry picking. One player has 98 career points in 268 games. The other has 26 points in 122 career games.

True dat. Even if they are up all the cap space — they got multiple players, and better players, than what OEL was doing. Net positive.
