... and Miller should only be fighting if his 'passion' is just too great and his 'heart' will explode otherwise. - Sayros
It really doesn't matter who? They all need to stick up for each other and not stand back and watch like Bo did.

Joshua probably going to have to step up.
I still like Macewan for this reason as he was always game to go, and wasn't a waste of space when not fighting. But I get we have too many wingers as it is ... just a lot of small and/or soft. - Sayros

It’s going to take Tochett and Alvin years to reverse the “turn the other cheek” cultural rot in the organization |

You start with call ups. Hungry to work their asses off & give it the blue collar effort every second on the ice. Win the coaches favour bringing energy & tenacity. Get the fans into the game & feed off of it. |

I'm the same.
But after looking at the stats for fights and penalties, I think the canucks might miss Kyle Burroughs' drive and heart. One of the few last season that showed any sort of truculence. Too bad we couldn't find a space for him this coming season. - bloatedhefty
I am not an expert on it for sure, but I thought all three D free agents will drop them. I Thought Teddy B would not shy away. I don't know if this is a playoff team yet so the playoff toughness we will cross that bridge if we get there

Nothing is better than watching a team swarm the ops. 60mins a night will win more often than lose. Gotta skate & work hard like no tomorrow & set the tone & identity to be hard to play against. Gotta want it more.
Then talent will win out. |

Better PK & team D is everything. |

If you are talking hockey fights, I am fine with them and enjoy them on occasion. I think it is overblown the frustration.
Yeah Bo was an embarrassment but the rest of the team aside from a small few would defend themselves and other team mates. I am sure the new guys will step up.

HAD a prolapsed rectum. I went to the same doctor that fixed Booner's throat. Pretty much the same condition. Go figure. |

I mean we have and are going to have a lot of swedes. I'm not saying they aren't tough, many are, but fighting just isn't engrained in them and the turn the other cheek thing kind of stems from there. I know pushback isn't just fighting, but if you give a stinky glove or a cross-check after the whistle ... sooner or later going to have to answer the bell. So I think it's a slippery slope. If you don't have guys willing to drop the gloves, you don't have guys willing to mix it up either. The exceptions are the weasels burrows, m tkachuk, etc. |

But not running around looking for hits & taking oneself outta position. Physicality is go to dirty areas & finishing checks & protect net front. Scrums are the time to exert won’t take no crap. Pound the D on dump ins if done smart. The rest takes care of itself if play for each other. Takes a room full of character buying in. |

With the amount that Booner talks out of his ass, it's understandable. |

With forechecking speed from Miky & Beau the forecheck should be better. Guys like Boeser should shoulder ppl more & not on the outside digging out pucks. Has to be hungrier & use his big body more. Speed & out mucking ops wins puck possession & tilts the ice. Playing with the puck is always easier than without. |

Hate to say it, but brock is rarely going to get there in time to put pressure on. Maybe if he has a big head of steam already, but otherwise he'll usually be too late getting there. |

True but referring to board battles. Needs to step out of his comfort zone more & use his bigger frame. |
