Maybe you’re right, it was why I stayed away for 4 months, (sorry about Aaron thou), but the draft and new additions have given me more optimism in the last few weeks, started with OEL buyout. - Makita
Ya, it's more accurate to say my clean slate started then rather than the draft. OEL, good couple of selections in the draft at the very least, well done on July 1st. Canucks had a great last couple of weeks I feel.

I understand why there are complaints, but nonstop female doging about everything, even complaining about the things that haven’t happened, but by god they may happen.
What is wrong with being glass half full for a new season ahead, glass half full for new additions and the attempt being made to be a better team.
Now look what’s happening, Vantel has had very reasoned, realist takes on the team dynamics and players and he will be called a fanboy, cheerleader, swallower, just because he sees what is being attempted and is being open minded.
Negativity breeds negativity, optimism breeds scorn and ridicule. - Makita
Total hyperbole!

That was a huge step the buy out. It makes sense with adding Hronek and cap not going up. There are 3 new D to play top 4 with QH. That’s a big change. Myers bumped down makes him more effective. Meanwhile prospect D develop |

Yeah something like that but believe they will start with Wolanin. Hirose is waiver exempt can get some farm time development. |

It looks to me like Management has set the team up for an escape route, if their targeted goal of playoffs don't materialize.
The team has 8 players, according to capfriendly, on the roster, that have 1 year remaining, before becoming UFA's.
So they may have constructed this team with a couple different goals in mind, first is a playoff push, the 2nd is the escape route of having several players available to sell off at TDL, if desired goal isn't being met. |

Maybe they should name them Plan B
I don't know if that was their intent behind the building of the team, but it seems like a good option. No long term contracts are great IMO, and aside from JTM they didn't sign contracts that we will regret for years.
I also think part of the building has to do with some young players. I don't think Willander will spend much time out of the NHL and maybe a few other surprises.
I don't know if they are doing things right, but it looks better than the things they did wrong in years past.
I sort of agree with Don on this. Don't expect a cup but the hockey will be better. If they can follow that rule every year of making the hockey better then it won't take too long before it is enjoyable.

Looking at the final four NHL playoff teams last year and how many fights they had during regular season. I didn't watch the playoffs but I don't recall hearing too many fights in the series.
Vegas 14
Florida 21
Carolina 5
Dallas 13
Toronto 14
Edmonton 14
Calgary 19
Ottawa 36
Vancouver 34
Winnipeg 20
Montreal 29 |

Nailed it!
Which is why I love what they did or shall I say, didn’t do on free agent frenzy. |

I just have seen two clips suggesting Canucks could have already paid Myers his bonus. There is no confirmation but they suggest yeah it is possible they have paid him to facilitate a trade. Bikini Rachel says her source says he has been paid. We are talking Sekeres Price Dreger Jpat and Bikini Rachel so it could be bull but it does stir the question can Myers be paid early. They all seem to think maybe, not sure, possible and a whole bunch of other teasing thoughts
