Only to zero out the cap. It could get shuffled elsewhere. Max out any LTIR accruing that is sure to come.

Is that what Canucks Army told you?

If so, they forgot to mention that it is an act of desperation, when you have handcuffed your team by hovering way to close to the cap.

Spending to the ceiling isn’t a hinderance with short term contracts. Cheap contracts can be sent down to gain more cap back on cheaper call ups. Need to fully understand capology & its nuances. Come the TDL it becomes very valuable. Class is over 😂

Aren't you the guy, besides Lefty, who struggles with math? Yet you think you are putting on a class

Ian Cole switching to #82 out of respect to Luc Bourdon. Pretty classy move on his behalf, unlike the Canucks, who never made him aware of the last time that number was worn.

WC is the goal imo. Beyond that they’d have to do a lot to quiet the naysayers & in Van that’s never gonna happen. In ‘82 fans made excuses how we lucked out to the finals. ‘94 the only run the city got behind. ‘11 the tear pies were & still are a thing. Success is a word lost on many fans when negativity is good fodder for the media to feast on.

You missed the point.
Any team banking on Ian Cole playing top 2 D can’t be very good. Canucks have revamped their D but is it better? Hornek hasn’t really proven anything, is Soucy better than Bear? I get that everyone is hopeful but how long til this fan base turns on these new additions?
Willander was a good pick but the Canucks could have picked another D if they didn’t blow their load early and jump at an injured D.
Flames are still a better team as they stand right now but I would expect lots of changes with all the turmoil left by Treliving and Sutter. Even you can see that Calgarys defence is far superior to Vancouvers. At this point a wildcard spot for either team will be a tough accomplishment.

Where the hell has it been mentioned that Cole will play 2 D? He'll likely be top PK pairing? Play as a 4-5 Dman.

Hronek, Cole and Soucy is a lot of NHL proven talent to add to one D corps in the span of a few months wether you agree or not. Even if all of them regress slightly, it's still a vast improvement over what was put out there last year, or the 2 years before.

Shame on me for back reading in here, it’s been posted many times from so called HB experts.
What are you using as your “proven NHL talent” measuring stick? Do you watch these players on a regular basis? Or are you comparing to what went out?
Is Cole better than Schenn? Soucy better than Bear?

I was only bugging you with my first post

Do we know if they are better? Not until we see them play. Same as you don't know that they are not better until you see them.

Nate Schmidt is a very decent NHL Dman and he sucked here same as countless other players like Bonino D1ckenson and the list goes on.

Won't know until we see them.

Bear is injury prone. Not hard to improve his roster spot.

Well some people already know, I just like to point out the discrepancies. Wildcard will be a stretch given who is in our division.

I think WC is out of reach for both our teams this year. I do see us going in different directions though. I think Calgary also has a problem with ownership. Cheap bastards.

Well Alvin traded a 1st and 2nd in one of the best drafts to come around in a long time for an injured D, who played a few games only to get injured again. I’m just using Bear as a comparison for Soucy.
