Neither do I. Just isn’t the talent there yet. The D prospects with seasoning should be the best hope in 1-3 years. Silovs is a comer.

Pod Hog Licky & Klimovich all wingers aren’t needle movers. Not yet at least. Forsell is intriguing but he’s aways away yet. Zlodynev aka ‘villain’ breaks the Russian mold for maybe bottom 6 C down the road.

I’m guessing Hog will outshine Pod in camp. Which is ok being he’s not exempt & Pod is. Pod has to really show he’s turned the corner & not stagnating. Clock is ticking on him to be an impact middle 6 winger. Hog has to win the coaches trust & be a noticeable pain in the ass 200’ player. Both will be challenged to be consistent game in & game out to be effective NHLers.

Licky needs to be a dominant scorer & play driver to be a top 6 future winger. Consistency is his priority & not be a liability.

Klimovich is showing growth but it’s a big AHL season for him to show he has a real NHL future. He could be a beasty type winger that RT could love if he can find an extra gear or 2. Middle 6 winger potential or a very good 4th liner who can give offence.

I think maybe you are looking at it wrong. Ones first assumption you automatically think of wingers.

I can see Hirose pushing a Dman out, I can see Silovs before the end of the year pushing whoever our back up will be.

Bains had a strong finish. Juulsen can steal a job. I think Hoglander will be on a middle six line either second or third line. McWard can push for a spot.

Even if just one or two of these happens it is a positive for the farm and a negative for NHL talent. As long as it keeps getting better I guess is my take away.

On Raty he’s a hard one to figure out. Has the tool kit to be our sought after 3C.

Improve his mobility be my 1st want. Be a defensive stalwart. Consistency like many others is top priority. Badly needs to take the next step & have a great AHL season.

I’m fairly bullish on D prospects. Not saying there is any studs coming but D Petey is trending well to be in our future top 4. A number of others are looking to be solid NHL bottom pairing cheap elc candidates. Johansson & Kudryatsev come to mind. Woo if he can improve on how ended last season could be a solid RHD. Truscott is flying under the radar.

Willander is a sorely needed RHD prospect that we are in no rush to force into playing. Other draftees need seasoning & are maybes.
