Fennel greens or bulb? - A_SteamingLombardi
Tough call. I use both depending on how it's cooked. The bulb usually goes into a stir fry, slow cooker, or the oven. The greens in anything from salad or to garnish the fish. I sorta like the greens. But I usually quick seer fish in Olive oil, then garnish. I get impatient. |

I just think there are better options available than trading him to sign Dumba. Shouldn't you be making Haliberrysbutt? - Load Management
Can do both & still use Dumba as TDL trade bait if go that route. |

Not unless Dumba takes a 1 year contract at a serious discount. What makes Myers more attractive is he's on an expiring contract. By the time the TDL comes and his cap hit is minimal, he's basically free money. Little actual salary to pay out and nice insurance for a team making a run.

I knew they'd come around. Even Neemer has softened his stance somewhat. - Load Management
He’s a decent bottom pair guy, 1 mil is about right. |

I'd say signing Dumba 2 years, 4 mil each would be a fine contract. He can play top 4 minutes here, maybe that gets him to sign over some other teams. Doesn't have to carry any offense, just play smart.
Cap will be going up next season, Canucks have lots of contracts coming off the books. Flipping Myers for Dumba and cap savings would be a big boost to their playoff aspirations
The problem with keeping Myers for the year is that he's Tyler "Chaos Giraffe" Myers, and he's going to continue to be an absolute hole on defense |

Yes he has those WTF moments which come up playing too many minutes against top players.
If they could move a winger or LTIR Pearson etc they could sign Dumba and keep Myers on 3rd pair. Should work better like this:
QH Dumba
Soucy Hronek
Cole Myers
Could be the strongest defense Canucks rostered since their Pres. Cup days. |

A couple big RHD defensemen from CHL that I was hoping the Canucks would be looking at signing, Jeremie Biakabutuka, recently signed by St. Louis and unsigned by Ottawa, 2nd round pick from 2021, Ben Roger.
Both are 6'4 200+ lbs,
I guess the talent pool is overloaded in Canucks, or maybe these kids are from the wrong country.

If you noticed they were signing and drafting young guys with high hockey IQ. For big they just signed proven vets.

I was just wondering about this and whether they can do anything without Bergy. I think you have to tear it down without that 1C in place. Rueby is in shambles |

I'd rather save the money and wait. Maintain some cap flexibility. Dumba was a tire fire last year. No sense in replacing one problem with another. |

I think they'll be fine and still be in the mix as a cup contender. They still have a 60 goal scorer, excellent D and currently elite goaltending (plus Mikey Dipietro :lol ... and they're not afraid to make moves to patch up the middle. They may not be the record setting team of last year, but that may be to their advantage come playoff time. |

I would have preferred them not spending/trading for a lot of the poop they have, but their mandate is to make the playoffs... unless they have a trade in mind or are targeting someone, having cap flexibility hasn't really been their priority. Plus next year's UFA market for D isn't great (again) |

Agreed. Myers is not only a hole himself, he throws out landmines for everyone else out there. |

It does surprise me how so many here covet players on other teams that are mediocre , and devalue players on their own team that are also mediocre.
There is also the fact that our mediocre player contract ends this season and some want to pay the other mediocre player multiple season at 4+ a season….I guess Dumba could be the new whipping boy, people will miss that with Myers. |
