Nothing I dislike or like about him. 18 goals 40 points 5'11" making 4 plus mil. - VANTEL
OK so Raty is (most likely) a bust, draft pick dealt and Beauvillier gone ... so does it end up we traded Horvat for only a piece of what it cost to get Hronek? |

So Myers is the Ironman dman.
Guess we will see what happens but if Allvin moves on from Myers I really hope it’s not another Benning move in Dumba. Allvin has made a few good moves so far, so hoping for a measured move, and not reactionary. - Makita
Agreed. They also have the beefy part of the OEL buyout in a couple years. Where the dead space jumps from 2.3-4.7 mil. That's gonna add some huge limitations if you overspend on term now. |

I am no where near calling Raty Podkolzin or Hoglander a bust.
Raty is 20 years old. Let's see how his next two years or three go for development.
If they trade Beauvillier the deal becomes Hronek,
Raty, and a third and cap space and the saving grace that we did not lock Bo in long term. |

When OEL kicks in Willander should be on the team playing on an ELC. Hopefully DPetey also.

I was just wondering about this and whether they can do anything without Bergy. I think you have to tear it down without that 1C in place. Rueby is in shambles - neem55
I thought Bergeron was going to retire after last season, so I expected them to start a rebuild last year. |

Best case scenario. They still need to count their beans closely until then or they'll wind up compounding that mess. |

Beauvillier, Myers at the TDL. |

I think Hirose has a good shot at becoming a regular this year (small sample but looked good). I think they are covering all their bases. Let them worry about the cap they have an expert at the helm for the numbers.
I think they did a good job plugging the dyke this year and might be on the right path finally. Time will tell.

Betting on a Dumba rebound is just as risky. - Load Management
Throughout their careers, Dumba has been better than Myers. Dumba wasn't as bad as Myers the last couple years either, nor as bad singularly last season. He doesn't have as far to "rebound" to make him a much more serviceable player than Myers does. |

Beauvillier should get a good return playing with EP & Kuz.

Well Podkolzin will be a fine third line guy I think. Maybe Jannik Hansen light. Hoglander was rushed in and feels lost. Do you want me to be a scorer? Do you want creativity? Do you want me to be an undersized grinder? A pest? This is part of my argument on depth and how Canucks have none and haven't for a while despite appearances there are 'battles for jobs'. We gift guys like Hogz or Podz a roster spot and get excited at their youthful exuberance. When they inevitably regress, we move on. Guys like these should be playing well in the AHL putting pressure on each other and big leaguers and maybe not even getting a sniff of NHL for couple of years. These aren't crosbies or bedards we're talking. Instead they're penciled in immediately like they're going to be difference makers at a young age.
Also, I think Lou knew what he was doing when he moved on from Raty. These young reclamation projects management speaks of and are targeting are going to be many strikeouts before a hit. I think he'll ultimately be in the Kravtsov pile. Management talks about this strategy like bargain shopping is some new unique thing they're doing. 31 other teams & scouts are 24 hours a day doing the same thing. Just cause we're more willing to shell assets out at them does not mean we're going to be more successful. |

I mean Boeser's numbers seem vastly inflated. Maybe some touches where Petey or Horvat were scoring since he was given so much opportunity to be top liner.
Why does everyone say Beauvillier will be gone? He's one of the few players I like on the team ... one of the few with some passion. - Sayros
He seems defensively responsible and had chemistry with EP. Kuz - EP - Beau will probably be one of the top lines next year. |

Well I very much disagree with your assessment of Myers, and yes I do think management will run with Myers rather than jumping into another black hole dman like Dumba for multiple years at a bloated contact. - Makita
Well I disagree with your disagreeing, so agree to disagree |

Sure. But as mentioned earlier I'd rather keep the flexibility for the future than making that gamble this year, when we aren't even close to contending. |

I think young players like Podz Hogs Raty Klimo Licker need the time. Finally no need to rush. They do not have to be playing in the NHL at 19. Learn the game for three years and slowly break into the roster. I think Hogs time is here.

For what?
I get what you are saying I just don't see any big moves coming down the pipe directed at Canucks where we need cap space of three to four million. Also if an emergency move was needed there are ways to move money.
Canucks really do have enough cap space over the next couple of years.

Not at all.
I said I don't see them as a playoff team. I think they have improved but not enough to even make the playoffs.
They have done some good things these past couple of months and I am giving them credit for not being stupid. If that makes me a cheerleader then oh well.

Not unless Dumba takes a 1 year contract at a serious discount. What makes Myers more attractive is he's on an expiring contract. By the time the TDL comes and his cap hit is minimal, he's basically free money. Little actual salary to pay out and nice insurance for a team making a run.
How many beers have you had? - Load Management
At least a 3 mill pro rated cap hit though. If Canucks eat half.... def not very valuable.... prob get less the Schenn if it was possible to move.
