If one is narrow minded and only reads a couple of sites. How does one become rounded? How does one obtain the different views and information? Frank Seravalli comments were why I posted the link. A guy that is pretty reputable in the industry. But you do not need me to too you this...
Now you say you understand but do you? Do you know that Eye on Isles posted an article that contradictory to what Seravalli wrote? So by understanding, does that mean you agree with the site or Seravalli?
Oh hockeyson, one must clear mind like Zamboni clear ice. - Nfdbulldawg
Agreed Mr Miyagi
Just a lot of regurgitated BS on the internet imho. Pretty soon people are going to post what ChatGPT said about trades and signings
Listen my problem is I’m to well rounded. My old lady is constantly putting me on a diet!
It does not have to take 10 years to rebuild. The Rangers rebuild did not take years. As I already mentioned, the problem is Lou did not go all in after the two ECF trips. Most people have problems with the Bo move because it did not happen two years earlier. Lou is doubling down on an older and slowly team with little skill. - ses111
So if rebuilds don’t take or have to take that long then why not go into the season with a couple changes and see how it goes? Full season with Bo and Barzal. Dobson and Romanov a year older. Nelson, Engvail and Parise( Ladd2.0) keep up their chemistry. It might just click. If it’s a total fail then you can make that quick rebuild.
It’s hard to build chemistry and keeping what has worked sometimes is cheaper and better performance wise than bringing in new players.
Just my opinion.
I think Chara was a last minute signing after missing on Ryan Suter (IMO). Parise was a great pick up. I’m not upset at Lou for having a failed season or two. I’d be upset if he sat on his hands and sold us on his believing in the lockeroom BS. He’s already rid them of Bailey and has been vocal about making hockey trades to improve. I can’t take issue with a guy who’s addressing needs while being limited in his leverage of assets. - kindlyrick
Dobson took a huge step forward in his development by playing with Chara.
He wasn’t the same without him on his side last year.

Spoke to Garth Snow -- now that his contract with the Islanders is officially over -- about a number of topics today. Dropping tomorrow morning.
Can't wait for this one - eichiefs9
Read it today. KKurtz must have gotten paid by Snowflakes agent.

I really hope Bo and Barzal can continue to show great signs like before Barzal was injured. I would love for everything to work out and no further moves needed. Just by going by past experience and outside the two ECF runs, the offense has tripped up the Islanders and I would hate to see the Islanders miss out again with the team a year older and the team not taking full advantage of great goaltending. If the Islanders were a young and upcoming team, you have more time in seeing what moves are needed to get the team over the top. The clock is ticking with this Islanders team.

Honestly the Islanders aren’t really that old and are a bit over the mean when it comes to age. See below:

Biggest issue with age is with the forward group. Chara and Greene being gone knocked down the age of the defense. The biggest question mark is the forward group right now.

Going 1 for 18 on the power play in the playoffs certainly doesn’t help your chances of winning. Then again, they’ve been towards the bottom of the league in PP for years. Something has to change to get that going. Just one man’s opinion.
I think the age issue is not as big a deal as the speed and skill issue. Parise is a great example of a guy who is older but has wheels. The team is overall on the slow side. The lack of creativity and skill is evident by shootout outcomes. Is anyone excited when we go into a shootout? There was a lot of lost potential points there due to our guys shooting straight into the goalie or missing the net completely. It would be nice to have a guy or two you could depend on in these situations.

You need youth, speed, and skill. Older more grinding type players like Lee and Palms break down and become less effective. It's the same with the 4th line after a long regular season, it's tough to maintain for the playoffs. This is a speed and skill type of league now. During the ECF runs, Islanders had more speed with Barzal, Eberle, Beau, Leddy, Toews. Leddy and Toews were huge in being able to skate the puck out of trouble. That is lacking now along with a lack of forward speed.
The Islanders went in a different direction than I wanted them to, and I have my doubts, but, yeah, feel free to ignore these guys. They're not actually passionate or angry about the team; their whole deal is getting people upset for engagement. Last time they trashed the Isles it paid off with many days of angry Isles fan clicks and a Twitter war with Butch. And it's guaranteed if the Isles do well this season, they'll just pivot to the ol' "they're too boring!" shtick to keep the outrage going.

These guys seem to be trolls. Still not a great look and comments about a Hall of Fame GM. I could have done without Lou and mankini. Chief, please no photoshop.

It's still hard to hear these things about Lou. We have to see how things work out, but the perception about the Islanders is not good and Barry making aggressive moves for the Preds does not help. After Barry was hired, I was hoping both Lou and Barry would finish their contracts and Lou would retire and Barry would take over as GM.

When you have a good tool you need a good shed...And you cannot drive a spike with a feather.

You need balance in SES111 son. Too much of one thing no good for progress and success.
My question to this group, is there a top six left wing not mentioned that the Islanders could go after and it not cost the seeds of the great grandchildren?
