Every season there’s a new “it” identity that teams try to copy. How big was Colorado’s defense two seasons ago? Don’t need a hulking defense to win. Trouba, Schneider, key are plenty big. Lindy plays big. Fox is fox. 3rd pairing LD size is not going to make or break. If Jones is good enough he should get it. If not, we have another great option there now - picklerick
Thing is they signed Gustafson lol and have Harpur. I’d be fairly surprised if Jones isn’t traded for at least a RHD prospect, since we seem to have a bunch more LHD in the system. RHD is pretty weak once mini Trouba made the team
Fox and Lindgren are not big by any means. Lindgren plays big, but eventually that’ll bite him in the ass
I can bring that back if you ask. Blake Wheeler isn't good.
Why do you want to me to stop talking about certain topics and then re-engage me on said topic? I don't understand. - tomburton99
To me looks like a very productive career with a bad season. I think most players stripped of a ‘C’ and then still forced to face their same teammates is going to struggle. Thats humiliating. He was a -3 on a team where Scheiffle was -16 and Connor was -11. That team had issues.
Man I was so enjoying reading the positive posts over the past few days and then today happened.
Tom, I’m curious, what moves worked out where you suggested the Rangers should make “x move” , and they indeed made that move? Also, how many didn’t work out? Im curious about your win/loss streak here…
there is absolutely zero risk in any player at 800k, that is the point of the day - jimbro83
like I mentioned before, if laf, chytil, kakko are all getting top 6 min and wheeler is not being forced into a role he is no longer fit for then it’s fine. If wheeler comes in and looks 27 again then go for it. But I doubt that’ll be the case
Also. Idk who kept saying wheeler can take faceoffs but he’s garbage in the dot. No better than chytil

Oh I lose WAY more often than most. So I'm no different than most on the internet. Again, for 800k, they were limited who they could get. But again, the goal should be to avoid players who are currently bad.

Wheeler has definitely slowed down as he got older, and isnt the fastest skater... but... for 800k it seems like a no brainer. He also could fit well on a grinding 3rd line. If he could duplicate last year or even be better, 800k would be a steal. imo
well yeah, but the point that I was making was that he just made the decision to waive Zadina
so before everybody clamors to pick Zadina up, Yzerman is a smart guy - jimbro83
Look at the team though. The signings they made this off-season are weird at best. They no longer feel like a young team on the rise. I think the plan is falling apart
