League parity - when it comes to salary cap or the manner in which games are officiated is a misnomer. Canadian teams generally deal with higher local taxes than US teams. The league wanted Seattle to do well so Eberle got a minor penalty on this hit (plus a one game suspension) where he broke the player's neck.

Vegas' (a league favorite team) player Pietrangelo - slashed Draisaitl and got a ridiculous one game suspension on this play. It should be noted that Draisaitl was on a historic goal scoring pace prior to this hit and didn't score again in the playoffs after the slash.
