Why would you want an aging 2C when you have one? Tavares > ROR
- Azure
doom

Except of course that JT has been a point a game guy for the majority of his career including 80 points last year vs. 30 for O'Reilly. While RoR has had one season of 77 points but mostly 60pts or less and hasn't scored 60 points in for 4 seasons - playing mostly top line and top power play on St. Louis.

You probably know better than me, Toronto goes through this every year. Maple Leaf fans are the salary cap officers of the NHL.

Truth.

Muzzin won't count but the trick is that (excluding Muzzin) you have to get your cap spending to as close to 83.5M as possible b/c that becomes your cap number for the whole year (while you're using LTIR).

Two net present centers would be great.
Specially if one gets injured.

We just signed a 36 soon to be 37 year for 3 years to scare people....ror at 32 would fine.

Interesting.
A potential show me deal until the cap goes up?
Not bad

I’m not Brandon Pridham, I just play him on TV. Leafs aren’t in bad cap shape. Tampa, on the other hand….. They’re $4.7M over now ($2.1M available counting Seabrook’s LTIR) and they have to sign Jeannot and add a goalie. They just signed de Haan as their 9th D so they might be moving one of their expensive guys,

I'm guessing 5.2M.

Also, I think some speculation that some players may "help" some teams out by doing a 1 yr (this years flat cap) then signing an extension mid-season when it'll only count against the new cap next year.

Hmmmmm.

Too many hockeybuzzers have said he would never ever sign in Canada for me to believe this.

A one year deal would be killer.

5 years and anything under 5.25M I would lock him up.

Domi is tough ...I like his '(frank) you' swagger - this team is desperate for some of it. Can you hide his weaknesses by playing him with 34 and 16 (like they did with Bunting) ..and then maybe he's worth 3M to play the Bunting role (but with more toughness)? That'd bump Knies down to line 3 where he could drive some play.

I just find it hard to believe he gets that kind of money.

His defence brings his value down...and while he can score it has been shown multiple times now that he is not a top 6 guy on a contender.

2X4M is the most I see him getting. Which makes me wonder if he would take a bit less(like I said he was willing last year)

2X3.6M

Makes me wonder if Tree guy is trying to get both.

Murray
Jarnkrok

to CHI for

Raddyish(780K)

Bert 6x5.25M

Domi 2x3.6M

Knies-AM-Marner

Radyish

Rielly-Brodie
McCabe-Klingberg

Samsonov(2x3.25M)

Leafs have around 90K of cap space in this scenario.

You also have the option of trading for Pesce and dealing Brodie which saves 1M.

FYI - I was talking Bertuzzi with the 5xx5.25 comment. Domi is 3.5M tops for me.

Actually, being an American and playing in Canada, he sets up his home address in a no income tax state. The Leafs can pay most of it in signing bonus and only the $925,000.00 is taxed by the Canadian government. It's exactly what the Leafs have been doing with Matthews.

Bertuzzi looking for 5-7 years North of 5M

Domi looking for 2 years

What's a little bit of a pay cut for Domi? He was willing to take a pay cut to be a leaf last year but Dubas said no.

Seriously do not have a clue what a right cap hit looks like for Domi on the open market for any team. 4M? Idk.

I might be in the minority but I hope they get both and some how trade for Zadorov

Would need a 3rd party to retain half of his deal.

Maybe they can sign him 2x3.5M.

As I have shown they can make the money work. Trade or buyout for Murray.

I assume Jarnkrok has the value close to a 2nd...Bailey cost a 2nd to get rid of him so attach Jarnkrok and a project prospect like Steeves and CHI takes that I think.

Maybe sending Nylander for Zadorov and either a 2nd or another player from Calgary would be a great deal. It would easily cancel out the Nylander contract when signing Bertuzzi. If they could just find a way to add Matt Murray in the deal, it gives the Leafs more salary cap to build up the bottom 6.
