Makes sense.

What’s the goalie front looking like?

>>> Chris Johnston on the CJ Show says it's not going well between the Leafs and William Nylander, they just see the world differently.

Nylander believes he should be a $10 million player or just a little above that on his next contract, whereas the Leafs have come at him with a number in the $8 million range.

It makes zero sense. If he already signed we’d know about it.

Even if we sign Hellbuyck to a 5 year deal, and subsequently find out Levi is capable of carrying the load, worst case scenario we’re left with an elite asset signed through his prime that we can trade for futures if necessary. #SustainableLong-termSuccess

It’s just absolutely insane to pretend to know that a guy with 7 career pro games (no AHL or overseas games) is “special” already and not go after legitimate starters because of it.

If it backfired and he’s not ready for that workload this year they will look like absolute clowns

Other than New Jersey, I don’t see another team that could fit Hellebuyck.

Potentially 3 goalies available in Hellebuyck, Hart, and Gibson and only two chairs.

Worth a shot. The last rumor I heard was olofsson possibly moved at the draft.

Ever since then. Adams has been locked up like Fort Knox

How long does it take news of signings from Lou and the Islanders?

Not that I believe him, but it is possible.

I wish Gibson didn't have 4 more years, and I wish Helley had 2 years left instead of just 1.

The real question is after taking into account what it would cost to acquire, the length they are under contract for and what a new contract for Helley would cost would be, which would you prefer?

At this point neither team is going to get their ideal return for either goalie.

Helley has one year left at $6.1 Gibson 4 left at $6.4

If you go after Gibson and Levi is ready and takes over full time in 2 seasons he is then due for a new contract so you're paying your goalies $10-$14 million total.

Still not awful but that is a lot of money tied up on your goaltenders.

But Helley could walk in a year and that might not be enough time to gauge Levi.

Gibson is my target...even though I think Helley is better.

Gibson plays 50 games Levi plays 32 in year one.

So Vasilevsky, error Gibson has demanded a trade, eh? Time for The wussy to strike.

Anaheim has about $28.8m in Cap Space, and are under the Cap Floor by about $7m
It would behoove them to hold some Cap, say $2m.
That brings Gibson down to 4 x $4.4m.

For this season then, they would be somewhere around $11 - $12m under the floor...so, perhaps including Olofsson, Bryson & Joker's combined Cap hit of $9.1m helps to close the gap to a more manageable level...for one year of Cap hits.

Sabres would need to exchange value...I would hope the following break down would work:
-For Gibson - 2024-3rd & UPL
-for taking on Cap Hits (although I'd discount it 50% as they need the hit) IDK; Kisakov?

So,
Olofsson (dump), Bryson (dump), Joker (2nd /3rd round value), UPL, Kisakov, 2024-3rd
For
Gibson $2.0m retained

Sabres open up $4.7m Cap space and retain enough assets to then swing big for Pesce.

Gerbe's you said something about the whole bottom 3 D being different. Is there another D move coming or did they try and miss with someone.

Keep bringing it, Nice idea. Actually breaks down nicely even if say Bryson wasn't involved.
