team sucks

extend the gm year after year and coach year after year

gm sits on his hands and does not make real moves other than bringing everyone back that wants to be here

average gm tenure is 3.5 years which adams will hit around jan 1st

and he really has not done anything except sell off

I just don't find it relevant. I can see why some people may take issue, but for this team, you pay him 1 2 or 3 million a piece, doesn't mean Richard.

- TheSabresTaco

if it's another throw away year, which it is right now
would have been good time to give 2 or 3 kids a chance for at least 1 of those 3 spots

Is he a top 4

Clifton is better.

I don't know if you noticed how done those fans are with Bodie.

Bodie will be this year's Holl, mark it down.

what are you even talking about.

Are there positions that can be improved? Yes. But the base of this team was here, is here, and will continue to be here around the core of their drafted/high end trade players.

Like get another good short term goalie and hopefully Brett Pesce and you're (frank)ing high if you think it's a throwaway.

I'm not on Adams' Richard like some are, but this team today is a playoff caliber team.

yes, he can do more.

so we should hope to limp up 1 or 2 spots

why can't this team make a leap like many other teams have in the past, see devils last year

none of you sabre employees have answered that

One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet are bonuses. They have a lot: 4.5m.

Okposo's cup bonus might be a little silly, and they won't all hit (Quinn probably won't, but he'll cost them his full salary on IR), but some will. Even if they were willing to spend, they don't want to get too close to the cap. Don't want to roll a penalty into next season.

- Lunaion

Almost $3M of the $4M (excluding Kyle's, because if he hits that bonus, who cares) is for Levi and Power.

Without knowing the specifics, I'm going to guess both will hit theirs in full, just for planning purposes.

Now, with the remaining escrow being paid off by the end of the year, the cap is projected to rise by $3M to $4M for the 24-25 season.

Kyle was going to come back regardless as long as he wanted to play. Girgensons too as long as he was willing to take a 1 year deal.

It was set in stone. I mean you want to talk about overpaying, Chicago spent 8 million doll hairs on Perry and Foligno. Namestnikov got 2.5M too. Engvall got 2.25 into the next decade. Busted ass Nick Bonino got 2M. Trevor Moore, same thing.

Way I see it, if signing these guys stops you from signing significant players or legitimately blocking prospects (Brett Murray is blocked and is PISSED), then you have a problem. Otherwise, this burger has nothing between the buns.

- TheSabresTaco

The bold is a problem, roster requires balance.

Rarely see 45 pt jumps.

Did we not take a leap last year?

Were we not slated for like 74-78 pts in every preseason mock?

We outperformed expectations last year.

More can be done. Thankfully its only July 5th.

Murray, Brodie, Muzzin - if the Sabres grab any of these guys, the Laffs will have to add significantly. Helps their cap situation too much while not moving the needle enough for Buffalo. Brodie has the most promise of that list.
