Accari would of been Center. IMO. 55% on faceoffs with the leafs.

Girgs-Accari-Okposo would of been a sweet defensive line. Adds another guy to the PK.

I think what Z represents more than how he plays is why people are frustrated with it.

He’s a part of the era of the worst hockey in the history of this franchise.

I get it. If Z is a UFA add I think people are more open to it.

- 5th worst PK
- The GM admits the team is soft

They don't help the team defend, they suck on the PK and don't stick up for the youth...that justifies the raise and resigning.

It's more than just 4th liners though. To me it's about contracts to, they left no wiggleroom. It's one of the weirdest offseason ever and everyone new it was coming because of escrow. Maybe not this bad but it was coming. I like the addition of Clifton, he's a solid tough Dman. Hopefully he can take that step and become Powers partner, but even for a seasoned vet asking them to add 3 or 4min to the style he is used to playing is a big ask. Johnson is the Okposo of the backend, but with the assets they have and the Cap space they had at that time Johnson isn't a big get especially at that cost.

Outside of Johnson who else was there really to go out and get in FA? Klingberg? Unfortunately, the trade front fizzled on Pesce. Not sure who else was possible to get.

Kind of think they just signed Johnson for a year because they couldn't get a true top 4 and punted for a year. Lot of punting this year.

I'll go out on a limb and say 91 Pts - miss the playoffs by 1 win.

Who'd have thought no material changes to this roster will yield the same results. Even if you substitute 1 cup cake flour = ¾ cup sifted all-purpose flour + 2 tablespoons cornstarch - you still get the same cake....

A lot has to go right to exceed last seasons total. With the minimal d improvement, at this point the offense looks to regress (Quinn injury, Olo being a ?), rookie goalie.

They have done nothing to address the softness of the group, and teams will adjust to their speed this season.

If they over achieved last season what is the point total that is considered achieved for you?
