2 sides to every coin

the anger on the other side is getting out of control

you would think we had 5 straight playoff seasons the way they assume everything is going to fall into place

Clifton and Johnson both add some man for man toughness, especially replacing joker / bryson.

Clifton can throw. He beat up krebs.

I get what you're saying though and agree. Need some up front too.

I know Krebs is the '22-'23 version of Rob Ray - but has he actually won a fight yet? No sarcasm here, I'm not actually sure whether your post was or wasn't in jest.

What if half of those guys learn how to play defence, and we get much better goaltending than last year and give up 30 less goals ?

Does that count for something ?

- Swedish_Jesus

Craig Anderson gave them a .908 in 26 games. Can UPL do that in 35 games? I don't have faith but I think that's what they need

You’d think this roster finished 30 points out of a playoff spot the way 90% of this thread posts day in and day out

Sure it counts for something. It's just not something I'm counting on. What makes you think that they are going to learn how to play defense? Same coaching staff. Even if the coaches start preaching defense - look how guys like skinner played in defensive systems...

You want to target them because they filed for arb and have to deal with it?

No, I want to target some because some teams of the those players play for can't afford it.

League average last year was .899. Is this group above or below, as it stands today?

Stat muse has it at .899 but they dont say how. Hockey reference has it at .904 because they don't use empty netters.

It's below average

If we can get a steady .905 or better from are goalie's we will make the playoffs. Well as long as we don't have a couple major injuries elsewhere.

I agree that you'd have to look at which team could/couldn't match the offer and what the offer would entail giving up.

But sure, there are some names on there I'd be looking to take a run at.

Seattle has about 15 mil in space so not sure if either Borgen or Dunn are worthwhile to go after - Dunn probably costs too much anyways.

Tanner Jeannot sticks out as a name that is interesting - but I'm not sure he is really much of an improvement over girgs/okposo/greenway/jost. Maybe he brings some of that mythical toughness though and he has had the one productive NHL season. TBL are currently sitting over the projected cap according to capfriendly so it's possible.

Swayman is the only other name that sticks out to me. Boston still has some cap space but currently sits at 11 Forwards and 9 or 10 D signed.

Was looking at hockey reference. .899 is the team average, so it would include EN.

If you search it specifically it gives you sv% minus EN

Samsanov, Seattle only has 9 forwards signed and 5 D, so that Cap space goes quick. Ian Mitchell interest me, a little old but think his development got hindered. But to many in Rochester at this point

Not right know, I think it comes down to Donnie and Company actually putting in a 200ft D system. Forwards have to buy in. Sabres have the Speed to Break out on anyone, they just need to learn how to protect there end and create offense of the turnovers caused by the relentless back check.

So someone with some source says they're done.

Another guy with another source says there's things to happen.

I say lets all just relax a bit and see what happens.

Same source also said 24-25 was the year "there going for it "

This all stems from someone in here, saying that they are of the understanding that the Sabres are pretty much done with regards to the roster for next season

Everyone is more than welcome to send the hate mail my way if its off. Mostly because me being off would be good news. But also because ill have it coming.

Edit: mentioned it earlier, I still think theyll add a G but it wont be hellebuyck/gibson. Murray was mentioned, thats probably closer to what Id expect although not that name specifically unless the Leafs want to giveaway the farm or something.
